I can confirm from my current Khalida campaign; which has sort of devolved into a darkest timeline where the Dwarves and Empire were wiped out alongside most of the High Elf and Lizardmen factions by the time Archaon spawned, leaving Bretonnia, Wood Elves and myself as the only nominal good guys on the map; that Chaos does attack Vampires. Mannfred sort of singlehandedly ended up fending off the Chaos Invasion in my game. But it may be possible that even though they are at war with everyone they prioritize certain factions for attack, and the attacking the undead behavior I observed this go around might have just been because none of the traditional targets were left nearby. If that's the case I agree that it should be changed.
I'm ok with the early Chaos waves being potential allies of the undead or the Skaven, that's fairly loreful, but once Archaon spawns and the real invasion begins, all Chaos aligned NPC factions (including Beastmen and Norscan my book) should be immediately allied with Warriors of Chaos and immediately at war with and attacking every other faction. Basically, they shouldn't bypass settlements they could conceivably raze to the ground, no matter who occupies them and, frankly they should go after Rogue Armies as well
1. Chaos will always wage war on the empire. And start at peace with the vampires.
2. The Vampiric factions are typically at war with the empire by design.
3. Anyone waging war on the empire will therefore get a bunch of bonus reputation with the vampiric faction.
4. Which means not only are they at peace initially, the fact that they share a common enemy means that they will be on reasonably good footing with one another.
Ergo: If chaos does well, unless something unusual happens the vampires are very likely to be the last ones standing.
If anything, most of the time the AI is biased against the player. That's how difficulty settings work, after all.
It just seem strange to me when Archaon decide to attack Norsca rather than the Vampire when Norsca should really be their ally.
But this description of a trait in Warhammer Fantasy Battle Roleplay seems to imply either all, or a large amount of Vampires are flat out immune to being corrupted. Though of course that doesn't mean they wouldn't serve, but they don't seem to make good servants. Based off that and the fact their souls don't go to Morr's garden/Usrian's Realm of Souls, or the Chaos Gods once they're rekilled.
