WTF, so you can lose your black arks to embarked armies?
Didnt realize this. So if your black ark is attacked by a regular embarked army, and you get defeated, you lose the ark too? I thought it was just the army that was lost. I was playing assuming that.the only way to lose your black ark was to another black ark...

if the fight was on the sea and your embarking army was within reinforcement range, yes, they die. since the lord from the ark would be entering the battle.

And why do you have that kind of impression to begin with? Oo

That would mean the only factions ever being able to defeat a black ark would be other DE factions - factions you usually ally or confederate with.

What the hell were you thinking? Oo
yeah weird assumption ^^

If you lose a land fight you lose the whole army + general so why would it be different with BA? after all they are just armies on sea

OK, maybe you guys are right. If only DE could destroy arks theyd be overpowered. So how about if I have an army with a lord onboard, as a sort of garrison....then lose the army and lord, do I still lose the ark? Or does the admiral fight in the battle too?

So arks are kind of sitting ducks, unless you keep a large garrison on board....what is the strategy for keeping em alive? I do like playing with them, pretty cool. But hate to invest in the upgrades and it goes down like the Titanic.

They're easier to defend now that you can actually play battles on them, previously you were at the whims of the auto-resolve.
And this is done by having at least a decent army on them.

That's the entire point of black arks. They are mobel fortresses for moving large armies around. Why would you ever have one empty.

Tbf killing the recruitment factory IS more important than the army
Teffy Feb 9, 2019 @ 11:52am
^ thts right, taking out a the supply for recruitment is doing more dmg then destroying one army which can you rebuild. you may be thinking like a horde faction, beastmen for example. when they lose a battle and the Lord is killed, you can get another lord replacement assuming tht you still hve units left after the battle. you also get to keep your building structures. but if the entire army and lord gets destroyed you lost tht horde colony. same concept with the arks. however arks you are better then hordes imo.

You can not use a lord on the arch, the arch is your lord in this fight, you can add additional armies, but no lord. But if a lord on a boat is in range you can support your arch with this lord+ army
