How Many of Ya'll Complete the Quest Battles?
Just look at a recent thread on reddit where CA Grace talks about the demphasized quest battles in the VP DLC. She said this was due to the fact that most players never finish quest battles. Is this true? I know for me personally I always love doing the quest battles. Its a fun thing to expand your campaign. The game 1 quests were obviously a tad too long and annoying, but I thought the game 2 quests were in just the right spot. Now Harkon has just one quest chain, and so do all the other VP lords and Lokhir (correct me if I'm wrong, dont have the page open rn). So do you guys actually finish quests or just never bother?

I do the quests, usually outside the campaigns.

Always. There are rewards for completing each step along the way.

The question is timing. I can either do it early or I do it when the main campaign threats have subsided and there's time for a little diversion.

I try to complete the steps whenever possible and do the quests whenever I have a turn or 2 free once I have my endgame army.

I always do the lord quests I like their battles with the intros with the lord dialogue and the battles themself are normally fun and you get their special equipment as reward. So yeah always worth it and fun.
I always do if I can.

I do it since I get free stuff out of it.

I want the items, yeah. But I particularly don't see a reason to do them every. single. time. Example: Archaon's quest battles, all versus Chaos only, just feel like "throw that infantry against their infantry" - wait - done.

To be honest, quest battle is a thing I alway plan on doing but ALWAYS end up putting off to later until it's no longer useful so I rarely do them in the end.

Yeah, I can agree, a lot of them are kinda hit or miss, but overall I find the vast majority of them are very entertaining. Having a scripted battle is just fun in general, as anything can kinda happen, say being invaded by hordes of zombies in Skrolks quest line. I really do wish they had put some extra effort into the quests for VP.

Two's battle went a better way, correct. One's could maybe get some overhaul, too. I mean, they're not really bad, but you mostly do not limit yourself to, especially as WoC, just barely making it through the battle and then die after, so making "them a challenge by NOT bringing the best armies" is close to never an option.

I do them whenever I cnan, and one in vampire coast is super rewarding

I do them if I think the item is worth what I have to do to get it. Especially for the first game's lords some aren't. Volkmar wanting you to go to war with Kislev is probably the worst.

They are the most climatic battles, unless you somehow screw up your statecraft.

AND they have great rewards.
AND they have great dialogue.

Always do them as soon as I can.

i'll always do quests pretty much, some are a bit of a chore to unlock though.

Not always. Sometimes wasting a turn(or more) on replenishing losses after quest battle is too much when my LL could be conquering new stuff all that time. And after a while I forget about the quest at all. Also some quests stages are so out of the way that I ignore them for most of the campaign. Like now with Harkon, I have to explore a ruin, but by the time i got the quest there are no more ruins, only way is to raze something. I will need probably to send army across the ocean and raze some undefended minor village. So much hassle.
