So can you actually vassalize?
I’ve never vassalized anything except for on hordes where it’s a built in mechanic. Are vassals a real mechanic, or just horde?

I've seen players vassalize vamp counts as empire for example.

That being said vassal system is stupidly weak simply because it is too hard to vassalize everyone. As chaos I couldn't even vassalize the norscan nations from the new world simply because they hated the ones from the old world who were at war with them.
You'd think they'd be like "AND i get to make peace with my other enemies? ALRIGHT" But instead they want you to end your other vassal relationships.

And as non hordes it's just stupid in general. Subjugate really needs to be implimented for ANY nation with its last city taken. And with Hordes too. I mean heck why should ALL my territories that Ive taken go to skaven allies simply because A.I will take them back if not? How about I ENSLAVE the skaven or good guys and that count towards the victory goals? :D

Did you ever try to just...defeat their leaders?

Not really. Vassalage is almost entirely unexplained. Other than norsca i didnt even realize beating the leader helps with anything other than just killing the army.

Chaos versus Norsca had it explained in a patch, though.

well yea, but i think he understands the whole awakening system. It's the regular vassalage he was talking about I think.

Also... HOW DO YOU ALWAYS FIND ME??? XD
Wh♂♂par Mar 3, 2020 @ 11:14pm
This has nothing to do with awakening. I specifically said vassalize. You vassalize them by beating the leader up. You can't awaken a tribe by beating the leader...

How is this an "always finding you" situation for so many people on here to you. Threads are being made, you reply, other people reply.

Definetely. In my current Morathi campaign i defeated and wounded Mazdamundi himself several times, neglected his armies, occupied his cities one by one but only Peace Treaty option goes green and no Become Vassals at all.
I think there is some limitations on race etc, but can't find out...

I talked about Chaos as mentioned in the later posts.
Frybags Mar 3, 2020 @ 11:19pm
Vassalize is only through diplomacy or defeating a last settlement - and unmodded, its only available to certain races. Defeating a leader is only a Norsca mechanic.

Also for Chaos vassalage.
Threetails Mar 3, 2020 @ 11:42pm
I understand Chaos Vassalage, what I don't really get is Vassalage in general. It just seems kinda really disappointingly useless. Until I played Chaos, I've never vassalized anything. It's just that in order to do it, it seems like I always need to shell out like 40-50k for a measly income of like 250-500. I guess it does pay for itself in like 50-100 turns, but that's a long time. It just seems like a cool mechanic that could be fun to play with as more than just chaos.

Edit: Honestly, up until I just played chaos, I always thought vassalage only worked for certain factions because I've never really had a few hundred k to throw away to try and vassalize someone. It's just so hard to do for what it is.

i did it with empire and nordland in game one once never sore the option again it would be good to see more of it between your faction as well as the ability to trade and buy terratorys with them.
