Had a mage like that in a previous playthrough, these spells can be used any number of times, as long as you have the winds of magic to pay for them
Thing is, in that playthrough, there was no redundancy
Recruiting a mage with an "Updated" spell present in her own skill tree simply means that you'll get the spell without needing to spent skill points in it (think of it as a "+3 free skill points" agent, essentialy.)
But the thing is, in that particular context... ? It's really not that good. If you really want a mage focused on spellcasting, wait for one that comes with spells different from his own magical lore (like "Glittering Scales" for example.)
How often does the roster get new mages?
What benefits will that give? (because, it states that the conductor trait woutld give the upgraded version of the spell
