Tyrion is easy campaign? Seriously?
Some said it's one of the easiest campaigns. What's so easy about it? Your first battles are Cult of Excess. They have Darkshards (and plenty of them) who will absolutely shred to pieces anything you have. You can only recruit spearmen or archers and both are annihilated by Darkshards. How are you supposed to win even the first battle which is easy for any other faction?

By not recruiting anyone for your first battle. Charge in, let Tyrion eat some bolts to the face, then have your Reavers and Phoenix kite the little ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to death whilst he soloes most of the enemy army. Your spearmen and archers just move in to make sure nothing escapes.

Every turn recruit 2 archers and 1 spearman. Also what RCMidas said

Most others start surrounded by like 5 dark elf factions

Now, don't get me wrong, statistically speaking it's the hardest battle of the campaign (excepting perhaps Hexoatl on Vortex - you MUST fight that otherwise you will lose everything, which is what holds them back as an AI in that campaign), so you do need to know exactly what the capabilities of their units and yours are, but then it becomes so much simpler.

Oh, and Mortal Empires Tyrion DOES have it tougher than Vortex Tyrion because of that extra army they have. Still doable.

You should use your superior range to kill the dark shards before they shoot you, you can use Tyrion to soak up fire, put him on the first line, and try to have at least two packs of dark elves surrounding him, it makes them easy target as they do not protect themselves when they're in combat+Tyion is hard to shoot at for the darkshards as he is "protected" by the spearmens that try to kill him.
Got the battle with almost no casuallity.

Really hope this is a troll post.

HE archer beats darkshard like ..... i dont know every freaking time before they even shoot lol.

Focus fire is your friend.

Or better yet, send in tyrion alone in to gather enemies units (they most certainly will), let the archer shoot at that blob, profit.

Only the non-shielded ones. I haven't played Tyrion in a while, though, so I'm not sure if they have shielded darkshards or not. Of course, even if they have shielded ones, just use spearmen to draw their fire while focusing them down with archers.

The garrison might. Not that it matters. They'll be firing at Tyrion anyway and then get chased down by your Reavers, so you can move your archers into a better position and fire into the sides of the Bleakswords/Darkspears trying their luck against the HEIR...OF AENARION.

HElves are the easiest race to play with, so all HElf campaigns are easy, except Teclis in Mortal Empires, because at some point your capital and nearby provinces are invaded by a massed blob of 8 Chaos doomstacks.

Bruh the only darkshards you should ever use is the one with shields.

That's why I put the focus fire part in.

Darkshards do have better use than archers in late game though.

Why use spearmen and waste their potentials (not that they can do anything meaningful mind you) when you can put Tyrion in front, keep him moving in their field of fire, boom, no more AI darkshards.

The trick is you walk near the settlement, that way they come out to fight you so you can kill them bit by bit, just get Tyrion to tank all the units (he'll be fine) while you shoot the crap out of them, you'll hit them a LOT more than Tyrion and kill them

It's on Mortal Kingdoms. The campaign is ok now. I've underestimated Darkshards and overestimated my spearmen, thought they'd be able to pin down their melee infantry enough time for cavalry to deal with Darkshards. That was stupid on my part. Spearmen melted, cavalry melted too.
Next try I've recruited archers instead of spearmen and used their range to my advantage. Cult of Excess is history now.

Well, yeah, but I'm talking about the starting Dark Elf army that you're supposed to fight on turn 1.

Don't know about Vortex cause I don't play that trash but Tyrion's ME campaign becomes dead easy once you deal with Cult of Excess. Sure they are harder than, say, Empire Secessionists but if you just use some basic tactics like using ambush stance to lure them out of their settlements and taking advantage of your archer's higher range they aren't unbeatable. Often times one of the other AI factions will make a move to colonize that island settlement shrine and Cult of Excess will see it coming and rush to colonize it themselves and then you swoop in and 2 easy AR-able fights later you have them mostly wiped out and they are begging for peace.

Yep, you need about 1/4 spearmen to 3/4 archers as high elves, spearmen are cannon fodder you expect to die horribly
