That's what I liked. I didn't really think much of optimizing.
I'd say a healthy dose of saurus warriors - them being his specialty - with 3-4 flyers, 2 stegadons (ancient or regular, depending what you're fighting), 2 carnosaurs, a skink priest on a stegadon mount and a scar veteran on a carnosaur. Possibly Kroak.
This is a very melee heavy army. I must admit that, having tried a core of 4 solar engine bastiladons, that's a nice option, possibly with a revivification crystal. They have amazing accuracy. Not as strong in melee, but still, not worthless.
I think that you can mix up more or less anything, but a few units are indispensable. A couple of carnosaurs for mobility (A scar veteran with + speed is a big help, or blessed), flyers to help deal with artillery and such (fire bolas or ripperdactyls are nice). I prefer to have a mainline of infantry. With Gor-Rok or Kroq-Gar, that would be saurus warriors.
Still, Lizardmen has a lineup with a lot of strong options. Don't limit yourself to just one setup. Try stuff. Have fun. Even a chameleon skink army can work (with some other stuff in it).
