Do ppl use the gyrocopters?
Any of them? I never found any use for them in my dwarf/angrund campaigns, never managed to dish out good damages. What is their use?

Yes.

Taking out enemy artillery so yours can focus on other things, bombing runs over enemy units, and sniping lords or large units.

I prefer the bomber and brimstone gun units, the regular not so much.

chasing off fleeing units, since you don't have any light cavs or doggo's

RoR bomber guy is obscene, plus the brimstone ones can do work. the regular ones, not so much

Oh absolutely. Without them dwarves are pretty much screwed on the rare occasions they encounter an army that can out gun them. Even with them fighting arty stacked empire or skaven is rough.
In SP they are neat

Gyrocopters, no.

Gyrobombers, oh hell yeah. These guys absolutely rek a ton of infantry. Really good for supporting heroes on walls against high tier infantry, especially if you have a master engineer to replenish ammo.
In field battles they just take out arty crews as if they are nothing and then having them in the rear of enemy army often destroys them.

They are a forgettable unit though, until I put them in and be amazed by how good they are.

Didn't they get buffed recently with a bonus versus large?

That makes them great against lizardmen who lacks many ranged options to take down air and have lots of huge dinos.
Gyrobombers are good, like others I just wait until the front lines are engaged and the go down the line bombing all the blobbed up enemy. Makes for mass kills and routs. Even the gun one is ok for taking a long route to avoid any incoming ranged and then go kill the enemy arty, then come back and shoot the enemy in the back.
Brimstone guns exist to delete artillery, and are somewhat decent at sniping lords. Gyrobombers (and the skyhammer) exist to delete deathballs, but don't get kills and XP because of how bad CA is with attributing kills to abilities.

The regular gyros, on the other hand, are pretty bad at hurting anything other than tightly packed, high model count, low HP-per-model units like goblins.

Yes, Gyros are very effective troops. The Brimstone one ist probably the worst since it does only mediocre single target damage, but the vanilla one shreds infantry extremely well and the Gyrobomber provides the Dwarfs with some strong AoE damage.

for awhile I couldn't use slayers properly, so the anti large copters were in my roster. But now. I don't use them anymore.

In campaign theyre usable, but lack much purpose. Anything you can do with gyros, arty will do better, especially with ais propensity to blob and inability to breach backlines. Vanilla gyros get beaten out by irondrakes/flame cannons, brimstones by cannons and gyrobombers by cannons or organ guns.

In MP theyre a lot more useful due to the limitations to funds plus valid need to defend backlines

^same for me; tried them, but they are easily replaced by an organ gun & honestly, cannons + engineer (accuracy boost) are a serious counter to any artillery. (SP only)
Even the RoR Irondrakes are more useful - specially against heavy armor.

I agree, but I kind of like having a few of them to draw agro from enemy arty and ranged units(much rather have enemy arty shooting and missing my air units than at my infantry).
For this purpose I prefer the Brimstone ones. Their shots can actually hit multiple models and they are fairly precise(and as such, much more effective than the basic Gyrocopter IMO). They are also decent at killing enemy arty.

I dont really like the bombers, because they are single models and run out of ammo really fast. The RoR one is pretty good, but that is due to it's powerful bomb and high single target damage.

They have a 15 damage bonus vs. large. The rest of the damage is 28 non-armor piercing and 85 armor piercing. So it's only a fairly small upgrade to the damage. Even with 100% accuracy with base stats a gyrocopter would have to consume all of its ammo to kill a carnosaur, and that would take 3 minutes of non-stop firing. Brimstone gun has absolutely atrocious damage output, and I can't really see a reason to use it beyond the one Grombrindal starts the campaign with.
