All the mining ones are the best. Lothern's is pretty good.

Sanctum of Quintex is the best one available to everyone. Money, reduced corruption impact, what more could you want?

Worst? Some are very situational like the Hexoatl building which is expensive and doesn't give great benefits.

how many special buildings exist? and i dont mean the ones like orcs who gets a 3% cheaper wolf units and such

The ones for major capitals are usually very good. Anything that gives massive income and potentially recruiting certain units with more ranks so they max rank faster and benefit from the end of the red line.

Shrine to Vaul. That -10% upkeep globally is monstrously beneficial on legendary games.

I agree that Quintex and the dark elves version of Vaul's Anvil are some of the best landmarks in the game. I'll add the Black Pyramid of Nagash and the tavern in Sartossa that gives everything: PO, money and increased recruitment rank for all heros.

A couple of bad ones: the White Lions hunting grounds and the Gate to the Underworld sea, both of them buff unit that you won't be using anyway, white lions and corsair, so are pointless.

The new one in Nagashizzar as Arkhan or vampires is pretty nuts. Physical resist for everything, miscast chance reduction, and raise dead cost reduction.

Knights Panther Chapterhouse for Empire is awful, you're better off building a normal tavern if you want the public order. Temple of Mists for Lizards is utterly useless unless you expect Xlanhuapec to be under siege every other turn.

Useful if you want to lure people into Xlanhuapec to grind them down whilst your actual armies circle around though. I like building all the unique structures just because anyway, but a bit of careful gameplay can make even the least "useful" earn their price.

This!

Possibly even worse than - 3% upkeep for wolf units IMO. There is at least a chance that I'll be using those for a laugh. There is no reason for empire knights.

This is true if I start in the area I go for it soon as I can.

That building in the Tomb Kings area (forget the province) that gives +3 (or a further +3) to lord recruit rank globally.

Unique Landmarks are usually worth building.

Vault of Nagash. It's amazing unless you're Vampire Counts, then it's the best building in the game.

Actually, there's so many incredible Vampire buildings down south it's perfectly viable to make an exodus themed campaign where you abandon your original territories, take the south then go to war with a fully formed Empire to reclaim your lands.
