buying DLC for an existing campaign?
well, google gives me mixed results. perhaps some info is old, I dont know.

question is:
If I buy DLC will it unlock in my existing campaign? units the most important thing, and the rest would be good to know, like Lords, RoRs, Confederations..

If it's dlc for game 2, knock your self out. It should provide new units, Ror, and lords/Lord types. What dlc are you looking to get? And who did you plan on playing?

and by "knock yourself out" you mean it will unlock those things? (not native english speaker here ^^) and whats the difference for game 1s dlc

queen and crown
is what im looking at right now, because started 2 with high elves

but plan on playing pretty much anyone sooner or later.
right now just owning wh 1 and 2 without pay-DLCs

edit: the most annoying thing is that I can research things for units that i dont even have the possibility to get. really weird, i forgot it works like that... -.-

Game 1 dlc is for Game 1 & 2. Game 2 dlc is *only* for game 2.

This is a good dlc, I recommend it. High Elves get rich really quickly.

This is a good start. Pretty much any race you like, (from either game) you can access and play in game 2 on Mortal Empires. You might like the dlc that goes with said race. (example High Elves, Vampire Counts, Norsca, etc) Also, there is more dlc coming in the future, people are predicting Greenskins vs High Elves.

Hope that helps :steamhappy:

thx, now i just have to decide how much to spend :D

or play Bretonnia, i guess -.-

because its annoying as hell to get this "carrot on a stick" constantly while playing/researching/planning confeds ..

With an existing campaign my bet is it *might* let you confederate lords, unlock units, regiments and such.. but more than likely something will not work right.

so the mixed results google gave me were on point after all ^^
thx

So I had an Empire save from before I bought Huntsmarshal/Nakai and everything worked. I could hire the new units and confederate with the man himself. One of the new Lords even appeared immediately.

I know you're eyeing off those Sisters and with good reason, they're the best unit in the High Elf army.

It will definitely unlock units and ROR. A Dark Elf game I was playing before the Queen and the Crone was released had the units available as soon as the dlc/patch download (I had pre-purchased the dlc)

Given that you will have started your campaign recently (long after the dlc/patch came) the lords will be available to confederate as well.

Yes, it will. I have an Ikit Claw campaign that I started before I purchased the Shadow and the Blade DLC, and now have several armies with poisoned wind mortars that I've recruited. Also have a Malekith campaign started before buying that DLC, and I can recruit the new units and hero in that campaign, as well. Also had received some masters from confederating Hellebron and Morathi where I did not have the ability to select mounts for them, but now with the DLC the option is there.

And you can also confederate DLC lords. In that Malekith campaign, I confederated Malus after purchasing the DLC.

The one part where you'd have an issue with the DLC lords is if you were to have started the campaign save before the patch for the DLC was released, as the lord would not be present in that world for that game. You would still have access to all the units, though. And given that you mentioned it's the Queen and the Crone DLC you're looking at, I seriously doubt that will be an issue, anyway.
