Being a Linux gamer is like being a bike user in a city made for cars.
Maybe ! Well, but i'm not a car mechanic, while i am a bike user. I like pain.
Hi Taijian,
Whilst I'm afraid mods are not officially supported for this game, manually placing the mod files might be possible via the following steps:
1. Add any other mod that doesn't require an update through the workshop.
2. Replace that mods file with your manually downloaded file.
3. Launch the game with that mod activated.
Steam may replace this file with the original from time to time so keep an eye on it.
Alternatively you can access the Total War WARHAMMER II folder by clicking on the "Support" tab in the pre-games option window.
We hope this helps.
Yeah, see, this is what *doesn't* work.
If I manually copy the .pack file into /mods, then it gets auto-wiped by the launcher. If I protect it with sudo chattr +i, it just gets ignored. If I put it into /local-mods instead, it gets ignored. Sooo, is there a way to put it somewhere, where it actually works?
plz fix it i just bought the game
"Game crashed with SIGSEGV(11): Segmentation Fault."

It's complaining about my GPU drivers (R290X, amdgpu mesa 19), nothing new here, but it works flawlessly.
Just one thing: It complains about my CPU governor being set to "ondemand" and suggests to set it to "performance". That might be a good idea as long as the game is running, but if you don't change it back, it will burn a lot of power for nothing. Plus you don't really gain much by changing from "ondemand" to "performance". I found this to be a bad advice, just saying. :)
Hi again,
I followed these steps and they solved my problem, now the game loads correctly.
Thank you very much for your help and for good job porting the game to linux
This isn't right.
For anyone wondering where to go to put .pack files, it's Library > Application Support > Steam > steamapps > workshop > content > 594570 (I don't know if this number is the same for everyone, if not then click around in the folders here until you find the right one), this takes you to a folder with a subfolder for each mod. Each subfolder should have a .pack and a .png, replace the .pack in there with your downloaded one and everything should work just fine.
Just make sure to check the folder every once in a while because Steam likes to redownload the current .pack whenever it can, so make sure you only have one .pack in there at a time.
Also, @Feral, do you guys have any ETA on the Festag patch? Are we likely to get the beta, are we going to have to wait until the official one rolls out, are you guys as in the dark as we are? It'd be nice to know exactly where we stand :)
Crashes on post battle load screens.
UI Freezes on post battle load screens - could be related to me getting bored and alt tabbing while I wait, I suspect the game moves onto the end of battle screen but the UI gets stuck on the loading screen here, since the audio changes.
Reinforcements missing the map - I've seen them run up the side of the map and never enter the play area. I'm a bit confused as to whether this is fixed in an upcoming patch that we linux users don't yet have access to.
Is there any way to speed up the campaign map animation/movement? I get bored waiting for my turn and typicaly alt-tab here too and go read something, end of game where you can see most the other AI players armys it takes forever to get through the turns.
I've sent the log information a couple of times after the crashes during the game start thingy.
I'm on Mint 19

About Festag update, will we have the patch at release time? Are Linux users out of future beta patches?
