How do i use more than 56 mods now?
I have try it with the kaedrin mod manager. But even there it crash when i use 57 mods. And this is not because of errors of the mods. I always work when i deactivate a mod and choose another. But it can't be more than 56. Does somebody know a solution for this at the moment? Because the half of this a reskin mods. Some are only hair colors. Or is it at the moment not possible to use more mods?

Mod conflicts or outdated mods are the most likely cause.

If that's your cap, that's your cap. The only thing you can do is try merging mods.

Mine crashes on 58. It would be nice to get some kind of explanation here from CA. I previously used 70/72 mods at a time.

It's not conflict. I have tested it with a lot different mods. It work always with 56. After 56 it crash. no matter which mod you activated at last

As others have stated, mod merging is your way to go. If you are unsure, I can give you a quick step-by-step how to do it.

Note however you cannot automatically update merged mods, you would have to redo it every time you wish to update the mods. It doesn't take too long though unless there are conflicting mods (and you care resolving it)

Because 40 of my mods are only reskin mods for different heroes and units, i think merging should help. I think such mods do not really need an update?

Indeed, for reskins that would be a very good idea.

Here it goes:
1. download Pack File Manager
https://sourceforge.net/projects/packfilemanager/files/latest/download?source=files
2. Install, setup, start. Then hit File -> New

3. Now we want to add all mods you want to merge, one by one
3a. Locate your Steam workshop directory, all mods are stored there.
For me it is *SteamLibrary*\steamapps\workshop\content\594570 (those numbers are the Steam ID for TW WH 2)
3b. Find out all the mod packs you want to add to the merged mod. Open the folders and from the name/picture assume which mod is which. To make it easier, make a copy of each in a seperate folder, speeds up the process later. If you are having issues, head to the workshop page of each mod, the numbers there in the address panel are the same as the numbers in the workshop folder for TW WH 2 (= individual mod IDs)

4. In PFM, files -> Add -> From Pack -> Open first mod -> Right click on the first line in the new window, that adds all subfolders of the mod to your new merged mod. -> Ok
You now should new folders, subfolders and tables in your merged mod.

Rinse and Repeat 4 for each individual mod you wish to add

5. File -> Save -> save in your TW WH 2/data folder
For me it is *SteamLibrary*\steamapps\common\Total War WARHAMMER II\data

6. Enable your local mod in the TW WH 2 launcher. Done.

Thanks a lot for this! I try it now. Hope this helps.

Or - since you should be using Kaedrin's Mod Manager, check all the mods you wish to have merged, rightclick on one of them and click "Merge mods (beta)". Wait a minute, then refresh the modlist, there should be a renamed mod with "merge" or "merged" in the name, rename it to better keep track of what it is and refresh the list again so it does update the name, then you should be good to go as far as I understood it.

Cool information, didn't know Kaedrin's had that functionality. That speeds up the process a lot :D
