Turn time improvement
I haven't played Warhammer 2 in months. Last time I played, on my ~6 year old computer, turn times took upwards of a minute to complete on the mortal empires campaign. With the "turn destroyer" mod that takes out lots of the minor factions not near your starting point that'd go down to around 30-45 seconds. Better, but not great.

I just fired up the game on my new computer, with the mod. It's finally actually playable! Turns end in about 10 seconds at most, which is outstanding. Is this due to the game finally being optimized somehow, or is this new computer just that much better? The processor is easily half again as powerful, which was about the only component I hadn't replaced in my old one (I'd have had to replace the entire motherboard, as the chip wasn't removable after installation). Going from an I7-4820k to an I9-9900ks certainly had a noticeable impact on other games (like Stellaris late game), but I hadn't expected the turn time reduction to be so massive here.

yeah the potion of speed update, reduced turntimes by up to 60%

It is honestly astonishing. Whatever deal they made with Tzeench was worth it for turn times which are not long enough to boil a kettle during.

The turn times being shortened is great, but the elimination of threads crying about the turn times is an even greater gift.

The update actually reduced turn time by up to 75% in my case, rather than "just" 60%.

With the update and faster turns mod ( the one that deletes minor factions that are not in your start zone ) improved mine to 15-20 seconds

Sorry for being a bitoff topic but does someone has a mod to prevent diplomacy offer spam? My end turn time is great but I get 5-6 diplomacy offers every turn it's really annoying

Its not the turn time destroyer mod that improved the turn times, its an update from CA in how the game calculates the AI decisions.

Turn time destroyer mod is made obsolete because of it imo.

I want to make threads on how short the turns are now. Sometimes a guy wants to take a nap, do his taxes and father some children between turns. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT NOW, CA????

You know, let the children play the game (just unplug the mouse and keyboard, as if they know) take a nap and then come back once they've almost destroyed the pc and then put them to be.d

i tested the day before many different turn durations, writing them down, and tested the same situations post patch. Some of them were literally divided by 4.

I got the game recently, post latest patch, so I don't know how slow turns were before, but I can assure that turn times got sped up significantly after moving the game to a SSD (Corsair Force MP510). 1~2 minutes to about 30-50 seconds. Loading times improved as well (from 5 minutes to around 20-30 seconds, in and out battle and when loading a saved game).

SSDs have no effect on turn times, it's your imagination or a different variable. An SSD will only increase the read/write speed of your drive which in turn only effects load times, etc.
Nice! This is one of my most played TW game since Shogun1 but I have never finished the grand campaign of ME because I had been always fallen asleep during turns in the endgame and than decided to switch to TW3K

I might reinstall the game to try out the new turn times. Thanks for the info! :D

Loading times being greatly reduced make sense, but it doesn't make sense for turn times to be faster due to the game being on an SSD. You sure you didn't do one test before the patch and one after? What was the exact date you first played the game?
