Kharibdyss feedback
Played a couple of mp battles with the new Kharibdyss unit.

It seems that it is useless in its current state. It has a good antilarge attack, however it is not worth buying because it is too slow to beat something on its own and it lacks vitality (hydra has regen to compensate it) which makes it a vulnerable target.

This unit is very situational and it is expensive. To cope with the enemy's monsters, you can take a few more archer units and they will do the job much better thank Kharibdyss.

My personal opinion is that Kharibdyss is not worth its money.

Kharybdiss is a bit niche but very useful in some MU's in QM. I had reservations about it when it first came out, but was pleasantly proven wrong in my MP experience. Two examples of good kharybdiss MU's is chaos and vampire counts. To equate it with darkshards/shades is just flat out wrong. There's a lot of MU's where your backline will get compromised faster than you can blink and then boom, there goes your anti-large/AP. Black Guard is great in the sense that it doesnt break, but it also lacks the mass or ability to push into enemy large, which in turn means you can be zoned out by garbage chaff. It also lacks the high burst of a kharybdiss to make it a really effective deterrent. That leaves cold one knights, who basically have the same issues as black guard, but rampage in exchange for mobility. Regardless, the kharybdiss fills a valuable spot, just dont bring it into MU's where it sucks, like Empire or Dwarves or something.
I have the same feeling that Kharibdyss is too vulnerable. It could have the 'Another takes its place' ability of hydra while still lacking passive regeneration.

It is designed to smash other monsters but it die too easy. The result of each struggle depend on luck. I've personally seen how the Shaggot smashes Kharibdyss and makes it rout without even taking a single hit. Then Shaggot is going back into its ally lines while Kharibdyss can not regain HP and it is really slow so it is easy to kill once it starts to rout.

yep. Feral carnosaurus destroys kharybd in 15-20 seconds.
The main disappointing thing is not even that "anti monster" kharibd is kille by monster 1v1 without any chance but how fast it is killed.
hydra has many cool features but khary has a dumb melee attack which is not even that good.
I guess it should have armor 140 as Bastilo or at least 120 as Stegadon to survive

Niche unit that has its place in a handful of multiplayer matchups. Completely useless in single player. In multiplayer it's great against the low morale factions(Skaven, Greenskins, etc), which also tend to use a few large monsters to supplement their hordes. The Kharibdyss is both good against said large monsters and for massive leadership penalties(fear+terror+aura). However that's the only time where the Kharibdyss is useful, so in single player, especially the Vortex Campaign, it's completely useless.

The hydra is simply better as a general purpose large monster and the regenerating heads and breath attack are much more useful than the aura. Especially since Dark Elves aren't struggling for anti large options, with the Blackguards being amazingly good at this job and as the mainstay front line of any single player DE army. While DE isn't short on anti infantry options either the breath attack is just that good and of course the rest of the package is incredibly solid as well.

In general - Kharybdiss is just bad. It is not cost efficient at all. I'm only talking about MP matches and I don't care about single player honestly.

So, the thing is that it is way overpriced. I agree that it has some cool features but it is not worth taking if you want to win. It has some morale penalties but it is not that important for 1800 gold. Kharybdiss is too fragile to take it VS most of the factions with even so-so ranged units. It is also too slow to be where you need it and it is too weak to beat most of the monsters 1v1.

So, the conclusion is that Kharybdiss is a very fragile, not so strong, very slow unit with a very high cost which is not worth taking at all. It is just bad for its price. It should either have ~1400-1500 gold price or have higher speed/armor/regeneration.

Foul necromancy abound in this place
wait a minute DE don't have necromancers?

guess that's what the Kharbidyss was all along, always thought it was funny
