You can thin them out before their archers come into firing range. And then you shoot them with zombies.
And I can only imagine what a bloated corpse can do to swordmasters or phoenix gard :^)
Silver helms and white lions aren't as good as dark elf mid tier units and lizardmen have far greater durability. To beat high elves you need to break up their armies and disrupt thier co-ordination. Skaven, empire and vampire coast all have good tools to achieve this.
They love the stuff but they're a bunch of lightweights and get smashed off of one cup. Give them a few kegs of wine before a battle and they'll fall over before you even engage them.
In campaign thoguh, none of that matters, because campaign is about elite spam, and having some of the best elites in the game, high elves are really well off, though perhaps still not quite on the ludicrous level of some other factions.
