Are you trying to save a replay by chance? There is a bug when you have old version replays it will crash when trying to save a current version replay. If you're not then i would try to revify your game files.
there is also a memory leak and crash with the 4xx drivers from nvidia in WH2. I'm running 399.07 but 399.24 is safe as well. Looking through the nvidia forums today, still no word on when they will have it fixed. It seems to be only effecting this game though, so dunno how hard they are working to fix it.

How do I install 399.07?
I just did a roll back on my driver, and im on 416.16 right now, and it wont give me an option to go back further

You need to use advanced driver search on the nvidia site found here: https://www.nvidia.com/download/find.aspx

I had games crashing during battles as well, even computer shutdowns. I eventually found out my cpu temperature was hitting +80 degrees celsius during battles. With further research, I discovered that I accidently overclocked my pc rig using the ASUS GPU tweak which caused my cpu to run beyond what its capable of (without proper cooling systems). I set my mobo back to its original settings and now I havent experienced any crashing with tw warhammer 2.

that had to suck. In his case I am 99% sure what the problem is, cause it seems to be effecting almost everyone that uses the 4xx drivers that were put out when the 20 series cards launched.
