Multiplayer campaign
Do people play multiplayer campaign? and how exactly does it work? I've played lots of singleplayer but never multiplayer and want to try vs someone.

Half of my campaigns are multiplayer, though I haven't tried head to head, always coop. But it can be really fun if you do the harder difficulties (very hard, and legendary). My most recent coop was Bretonnia and Skarsnik... we lost that one. Its best to find someone that has a lot of time on their hands though.

im up for 1 v1 or co-up

how it works is the host takes their turn, then the other person. Co-op yopu are perma-allies, you work together to do whatever you guys want. Head to head is the same, but you are nor forced to be allied and when you do a battle, you or your friend can control the AI army.
head to head you can fight each other and in vortex the only way to play diffrent main factions

co op your allied forever and you cannot break it so you can troll your friends by dragging them into war but thats more trolling or by "mistake"

and mortal empire you can pick any race you want both modes
Coop is great fun and it works very well even with mods. It works in the same way as in the single player campaing, you and your friend/friends are military allies and battles are either autoresolved or played. If played you can coordinate an attack and play with each army in the battlefield, one as reinforcement, or (the coolest stuff ever) in any played battle of either player you can manually give the other player units to control. Or let him spectate.
works wel if you have chariots type units in your army you can let your friend micro them for ya while you focus on the bigga picture

So in a head to head configuration you can play at different hours but when you have to fight each other I suppose, or do you always have to play together ?

no, head to head is the same as co-op but when you fight a battle, youre friend can control the AI army or if he starts a battle, you can control the AI army

Yeah i play a lot of them with my irl friend, just host a game and invite. You just need to use exactly same mods.

We only play co-op, and i love it how you can gift units for your friend and vise versa, so you get to actually do something in battles instead of just watching.

Too bad, I thought you can face another player and play against him to compete for domination -_-

Well, you can fight the other player in head to head, but head to head can be rather unfun and unbalanced because the factions are nowhere near equal on the campaign map. In MP battles theres cost restrictions in play, but in campaign, someone playing a faction like GS, or Beastmen or Lizardmen or Skaven basically has 0 chance vs a faction like wood elves or high elves.

Theres also the fact that unless you pick factions close to each other, you might not fight your opponent for a really long time, and because your opponent can control the AI army, if it's a bad/challenging start area, they might be able to prevent you from really getting off the ground. Savage orc stacks are already tough enough for Settra to deal iwth, now try to do it with a human controlling those units that mulch your front line in 30 seconds.

Having not played Multiplayer campaign until earlier this week I gotta say I think over half my campaigns will be multiplayer from now on. Iti's really alot more fun !!

My roommate and I play head to head exclusively now. However, we are allies, we just play it so we can control the computer armies against each other. In my opinion, it is far more fun this way. It's interesting working together to defeat the AI and at the same time, trying to utterly crush the other person when battles come around.

You have to actually think against a person and aren't relying on cheesey supercharged CPU for challenge. You really have to think about what you are going to do.
