An all-Scorpion army is a similar deal (unless you're stacking the treacherous trait). Necrosphinx and bone giants give you an answer to large entity enemies, which you'll struggle with otherwise.
This all remains perfectly skillpoint efficient. You have to put six SP in the first part of the red tree in order to access the latter part with further ushabti/scorpion buffs. So you are not losing anything by spending the SP to buff bone giants as well.
The other problem with these 2 armies when you stack them is that they are terrible in sieges unless you dont care about losses and are just autoresolving.
