How to claim free content?

I keep hitting it and it re-directs me to the store page. Can anyone just tell me how to do it without having to run in a circle please

Most of the free content is part of the first Warhammer game and is part of that DLC, apparently you need to download both games to use the free content in Warhammer II. I've tried downloading the free content separately but it just tries to download the full game.

Been trying to work this out myself and this is the only way I can work it out, if anyone has a better way please share.

Edit - I can a least claim the free Bretonian content by clicking on the DLC for the first warhammer game and adding it to my wishlist, but thats about it.

If you can't get Mortal Empires its only for owners of both games( TWW1 + TWW2).

Tried but no luck, It keeps trying to load the first Warhammer game. It's not a problem at the moment as I've just started the Empire campaign on Mortal Empires. I'll probably try Bretonia next, then I'll try again. Thanks for the replies both.

If you've attempted to download all the free content already...try heading to your steam library and right click selected game -> properties -> DLC tab. Are all the DLCs listed under the dlc tab by any chance? If they are..unchecking and rechecking the boxes should get them to download.

This has been an issue with with Kindom Come: Deliverance and a few other steam games.

Edit: I'm currently installing WH2 and i've got all the free content from WH1 and 2 in my WH2 DLC tab. All you have to do is go to each free LC page and hit download. Once steam prompts that you have to download/install WH1 again just cancel the prompt. The Free LC should already be in your WH2 DLC tab. Unchecking and rechecking the box will start the download/unlock.

Hi, I've got most of the DLC from Warhammer I, it's just some of the dwarf characters and others like Isabella von Carstein for example. Once I'm done with this campaign I'll just d/l the first Warhammer. It might be worth you checking the DLC on the on the first game to make sure you have it all.

Edit - I've got it all, I just had to keep adding and removing them to my wishlist plus hitting the download over and over again till it worked. Cheers for the assist.

AS OF 8 / 4 / 2020 I have figured a work around...ish. Ish cause i'm not sure, but i think this is as intended. If it is, wtf !?

Hennyways... I have found that if you use this 3 step process, you will unlock your desired faction. 4 Step if you want multiple free DLC factions.

1) Use the steam client and press the "download" button. This will open the total war launcher.
2) Launch the game using launcher.
3) Start new campaign and your desired faction which should be unlocked.
4) Close the game client.

If you're trying to get multiple free DLC factions, you must do ALL four steps for EACH faction for it to work, as i have tried to only launch the game and quit out from the main menu without clicking on new campaign and it not work. Thankfully, we don't have to actually start the campaign of the desired faction cause OMG the load screens in this game.

Some content is from Total War: Warhammer (1) free DLC. I do own both but, I only have TWW2 installed. This is what I did to get the content without having to download TWW1. I simply clicked the "download" button, then used TWW2 free DLC page to launch the game. I checked new campaign factions and VIOLA! I do not know if this will work without owning TWW1.

Ye those steps have been mentioned numerous numerous times. Theoretically you can close the launcher after it opens and go activate another one, but if you want to make sure then actually launching the game also works.
