Sword of Khaine confussion
Hey guys. SO I have been playing as Averlorn and I quite like it. I just seem to have one confusion with respect to this Sword.

So I got the settlement, built the shrine, got the sword, killed everything in my path up until the first dilemma: keep the sword and get penalties or let the sword rest. Being that its my first time doing this, I let the sword rest.

My question is whether at any point in the future I will be able to get the sword again after already having it once and setting it to rest before reaching level 1 penalties of keeping the sword.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can reclaim it, just move a lord into the settlement.

Thank you. I thought that was it, just too far atm on a "northern crusade" of sorts.

When the sword is reclaimed, do you again start with level 1 drawbacks? or the level of drawbacks upon which you let the sword rest

Can't answer that I'm afraid. I haven't used the thing enough to know.

Given the way the SoK mechanics works I believe it will start from 'thirsting' level again. So basically level 1 penalties and buffs and you will again get 2 opportunities to rest the sword.

I've never given up the sword. So I don't have any evidence to support this.

Thank you all. Much needed clarification. :)

You could just recruit a prince at the Shrine of Khaine and send him out solo with the sword. Ideally you'd use a 60 influence one with tanking skills but even a 0 influence one will be a strong one man army with the sword and decent gear (prioritize wards of course).
