Actually it happens - they do - as the white dwarve i got to fight 3 full stacks round 10 - i actually got the starting province and lost both little settlements because i had to defend both sides - put the battle difficulty down (on e.g. normal) and you have no Problem to beat them but if you try fight them open field on very hard with 20 “normal“ units they just stomp you in the Ground
