Hardest Faction To Play As?

I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts on what they believe is to be the hardest faction to play in-game and why?

Wood elves. Because of the boring amber mechanic

I have a problem continuing past mid game for every faction (just gets boring), but it feels like its the worst with skaven for me.

anything not lizardmen or high elves.

high elves get EZ ulthuan confederations, and lizardmen saurus warriors are tier 2 infantry that remain relevant forever, and all their heroes can get mounted on huge dinos which means you aren't taking an effectiveness hit for putting a hero in your army.

real talk though i find any of the TW WH 1 factionns to be pretty hard. just because there's so many sides you can get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ from. on the western side of the map it's pretty simple. as lizards bad guys are just north and south, dark elves is south, high elves is north and west.

it's not like some of the warhammer 1 faction starts where all your towns are miles away from each other and enemies are everywhere.

Guess Lizards and Skaven for me. Lizards are just so boring and uniteresting I just don't get them, and Skaven mostly the same, plus that food stuff and their units constantly running away, which I hate...I need actually capable warriors in my armies, not cowards ^^

From a starting position, Morathi might be in a tough spot, as is Kathep, or Tretch. Teclis also has to deal with some stuff until he can get hings rolling

From a actual difficulty at doing well perspective it's probably still belegar, maybe skarsnik after he got hit with the nerfbat in ME.

From a "unfun" perspective, I can think of several, all of this games factions snowball out of control rather quickly, and some are incredibly dull even to begin with, like Kroq Gar for example.

Been forcing myself to do Kroq Gar campaign till the end over half a year now LOL. Never got the nerve to manage Belagar or Skarsnik till the end, they're realy hardcore.

Hardest campaign start for me so far has been clan Moulder in Hell Pit using mods. Pretty hard starts were also Kahtep, Skarsnik and El Cadavo for New World Colonies. Not including starting positions I would say Orcs are the hardest most of their army roster is just garbage.

Skarsnik because goblins suck, wood elves because of amber. Haven't played every LL though. According to the game, Queek is the hardest (initial challenge "very hard").

Skarsnik is ok if you use CheatEngine to take Eight Peaks right away.

Bretonnia on Legendary. It's nearly impossible for me to micro that much cavalry in real time constantly in a giant battle, sometimes split up into 3 parts of the map all at once. Plus your infantry is trash and breaks the moment an enemy touches them.

I'm going to say Bretonnia. Mainly because they are so boring and their unit roster is never really that good, even late tier. They are like the Empire's red headed step kid that never got the chance to play with gunpowder.

Skarsnik, in my opinion. He's funny and so are the gobbos, really like them. But damn Belegar makes it nearly impossible ( for me ) to get just one foot in the door. Wood Elves are very cool but very hard too, I hate their recruitment mechanics. It's hard to get 2 stacks recruitet and financed. Beastmen spawning everytime and those stupid Skaven coming way up from the south, flooding the forest with 5 billion stinky rats. Very hard campaign ( for me ), but fun.
So yeah, Skarsnik and Woodelves are the hardest.

Khatep is really difficult start position. You start with 1 villiage and you have to fight everyone around you or colonise anything else. You get 0 income so you can't afford to upgrade your barracks for better units until you start winning battles - which is hard with nothing but skeleton spearmen. Takes a long time until you get your 2nd army to then fill with more spearmen that may actually let you win a fight.

Seconding that, my hardest i've tried lately was Brettonia. They seem to really struggle right now. I had trouble breaking out of my first region and i've played a lot of this. Then on top of that, Empire and Marienburg wiped out Fay Enchantress before I could even confederate, by like turn 5-10. So thats a loss of 1 legendary lord real early.

Early game, I had a hard time surviving as Court of Lybaras. Dealing with the Defenders of Justice or whatever that SE Lizardman faction is was tough as heck and just keeping your armies from getting completely destroyed was challenging to say the least. Once I got past that point, things leveled out, but that was rough in the early stages of the campaign.

From my point... Skaven.
Either you swarm your hariy small ass on the enemys... or you get a hard fight everytime, because your units feel rather weak compared to the rest....

With Faction unlocker there are lots of hard starts :D
