Unable to do update ~250Mb update with ~26Gb free space

As per the title, I have an update waiting for TWW2 which is around 250Mb and everytime I try to get it to download, it says "not enough free disk space". I have around 26Gb free on my games drive so what gives?

Is it due to bad coding on CA's part that it seems to require the full install space to do a small update?

Recurring, known issue with TW:W and TW:W2. Don't know if it's on Steam's side or CA's side, but the game thinks it needs to fully reinstall every time you download an update, no matter how large or small said update may be.

It's possible it requires the full space to do the update, sometimes the updates work like that in other games as well.
Try freeing up space somehow.

No, just clear some space from your drive like deleting movies or uninstalling other games.

I would have to delete half my hard drive for this. The game is 60Gb big, so if I need that free as well, then that would require 120Gb just so I can update this game. That's crap.

I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling if you don't want to clear your hard drive, I don't know if it will work, but it may be worth a try if you have a fast unmetered connection

You shouldn't need more than 60GB free, assuming the updater asks for the same free space as it takes.

takes about an hour tops

I ran into this on wh1. And no other games do not require a full reinstall to patch lol. Just a weird issue with this game.

They don't actually do a full reinstall, just for some reason check to see if you have enough space for one.

No need to do any of that. Steam just requires that you have an associated folder with enough free space to move around files (he is gonna unpack stuff around).

Go to Steam -> Settings -> Downloads -> up on top you have "Steam Library Folders".
Click on it.

Add a new library folder on a larger disk that steam will use as temporary space (no need to be on a SSD if you don't have room, any HDD will do)

Enjoy the update.
