On my first vortex playthrough, I had to take a stack of Dark Elves +/w Malekeith and punch the High Elves' lights out
I've found its best not to worry about doing the rituals first and rushing them. Instead its way better to focus on just capturing key territories and building a strong economy so you can develop a good 3 solid armies which you will need to complete your rituals. After I've built a defensible empire I'll just power through the rituals back to back. Normally by the time I've built my armies and cities ill have enough ritual resources to do 3-4 of them in a row and then be close to the 5th. Usually High or Dark elves complete theirs first so I have to stop them in the ritual battle.
If you want, you can keep whacking the High Elves using Lothern as a powerbase. If you just want their ritual failed, sail back off to wherever - but that is a waste of all the movement spent on these two stacks...
Liberal use of the spells
i meant for attacking sorry. The High Elves have finished the 5th ritual and i am struggleing to beat them.
The best sort of army should contain at least 4 artillery units. ( both plague claw and warp lightning cannons are perfectly fine. There are plenty of good targets for both.)
Ammo seemed unlimited last time I played that battle so they get insane kills. Hang back, wait for the elves to advance and your allies to engage. Let them take the brunt of the frontal assault. You will 'support' them from behind with artillery. It is the Skaven way.
Add a Warplock Engineer if you can as well. They are exelent support for the artillery and can get some pretty good spells to boot.
2-3 Plague Priests with Warp Tokens, level 2 Vermintide spell and Plague Furnace would also be an exelent way to bring some extra fodder for cheap.
I recall playing this battle with Skrolk. Also against High Elves by chance. I sent a few plague priests forward and sent a fee waves of summoned rats to get things started but the rest of my army didn't see any action until the very end of the battle.

Even my stormvermin manage to get next to no kills. The time where I almost come close my artillery have the majority of the kills.
I'll restart some time and prepare better. Or try and ♥♥♥♥ Lothern early on.
No abominations? No death globes? No doomwheels? What are you doing, my dude? You have almost none of the Skaven's actual killing power in your army, save for taking too much arty.
