AP tends to hurt the little guys as I've noticed in my DE plays. Basically what above poster said; anything that can prevent them from staying one-with-the-turtle. Everything tends to rely on their formations not giving too much way. Try to piece them apart.
The thing is the dwarf ranged units are strong being able to switch to melee. Especially great weapon quarrellers i just focus my archers on threats and make them route early as possible and if the enemy unit tries to flank my ranged i switch them to melee and they hold ground pretty good. I had one of my minor settlements attacked with a lord sitting in the settlement but with no army only garrison backing him and yet still won. That lord tanked most of the fight
Tomb Kings lack flyers, but their constructs butcher them, especially warsphinxes.
High Elves lack AP ranged, but otherwise can use monsters, chariots and cavalry to smash their formations.
FTFY
With new Orc buffs, their campaign is one of the hardest on very hard or legendary.
Skirmish units are a big pain for dwarves. Sure, they've got a lot of shields around, but those arrows and spears still chip away at their health with little to no response possible. Also, shields only apply to the front 90-degree arc. If you can manage to get some skirmish behind or flanking them, you can start to rack up some significant kills.
Gyrocopters are retty good against skirmishers ive noticed.
Strong economic
No building requirement.
Strong artillery, versatile and still doing lots of damage.
Strong missile, DE missile melt anything. HE got range and DE got armor pierces. Shade got stalk which allow them to close in.
Strong monster, HE got the strongest dragon. Phoenix is going to be Dwarfs missile worst nightmare. Phoenix is quite resistant to damage. Unlike dragon who will drop easily to melee, armor pierces or normal missile.
Strong cavalry, HE cavarly are better. The rampage is just bad for DE.
Strong infantry, HE got a little bit stronger infantry. They will beat the best dwarfs infantry.
Strong skirmisher, HE cavalry are incedible strong at melee, While still have tons of range. DE have armor pierces.
Gyrocopters are a must for every army. Only good mostly for taking out artillery and make the ai come to you.
