Selecting a faction for co-op
It's been a while since I fired this game up and I don't remember many particulars regarding factions outside of the summary that is read upon selection.

So I was curious of your opinions on what factions will go good with a co-op experience. Something challenging but not punishing.

I would like TK but if I remember correctly I think I read somewhere that they weren't too viable for a co-op experience because of their victory condition/mechanic? If someone could shed some light on that.

Depends on who your buddy is. TK is pretty bad for co-op because they're faithful to the lore--supremacy over all. They don't make friends with other Tomb Kings in the long run.

I think other factions could get along with them, though? Like Dwarfs?
I'm currently playing dwarves and have military alliance with settra. He favors absolute power. I'mrank 1 he is 13, it says + 60 great power.

With everyone else great power is usually ally a minus

Mortal Empires, I'm assuming? Guessing that since the Vortex campaign co-op is locked to specific races.

The Norsca/Beastmen/Chaos trinity all team up rather nicely with each other. Bretonnia and Empire, or Empire and Dwarfs, or Bretonnia and High Elves are also some good combos. Wood Elves and Clan Angrund would be a good pair as well, since they basically start next to each other and the WE player can help the Clan Angrund player deal with their greenskins problem before they move on to Karak Eight Peaks.

Not sure about that, since victory conditions are shared in co-op. I'd assume it'd make it easier, since you both can go around collecting the books.

dwarf/TK combo sounds like a force to reckon with especially if they share conditions in co-op.

I'm thinking he might pick WE because of their ranged capabilities. But if the victory conditions are shared in co-op then all we'd need is the ability to gift units to bolster each others army.

How about Dwarfs and Bretonnia? Dwarf infantry front line and artillery backed by Bret cav and air, that's pretty strong combo.

1. Do not underestimate shielded Clanrats--they are extremely cost-effective in groups of 8-10 against anything except large monsters and cavalry
2. Get Death Globes
3. If you're fighting lizards, use a Plague Priest or Grey Seer with Ruin magic. The basic Warp Lightning spell abuses them so badly, especially in sieges.

Awesome thanks for the tips!

Just looking at the skaven Queek Headtaker of Clan Mors, although very hard in initial challenge, looks to have good buffs. Was curious how much of an impact the -2 loyalty for the Grey Seers units have?

Depends on how willing you are to keep their loyalty up. Give them a lot of units and battles and you should be fine. However, Queek does have another upgrade that gives him +2 loyalty for warlords, but another -2 for seers.

I personally like to have a ruin seer up now and again, but thats just because i love using them in multi. Honestly, a fair amount of their magic work can be done by Warlock Engineers/Plague Priests respectively.

Oh, and try and get a Doomwheel or two as well. Those things are wonderful. xD

Haven't any experience with skaven but if that's all you have to do to maintain loyalty it doesn't sound too bad. Although that upgrade you talk about sounds like it could make things more challenging.

The game says the skaven corruption makes it difficult for even skaven to inhabit an area over time, so is the faction played more like chaos where you're highly mobile? Picking up and moving from one city to the next? Or is there a check and balance in place that can counter act the corruption to a more manageable tone?
