How do folks avoid this trait if you don't want to get a mod for it?

Edit: I mean avoid it in a least inconvenient manner. (I usually march every damn Lord every turn but this is ♥♥♥♥ time-consuming and stupid.)

Doesn't this just happen for Bretonnians? I've never seen it happen to anyone else.

You get some version of it for any faction if you sit in cities for too long (or sometimes not long at all).

You sure you won't get it if you set up within the city radius? I think I recall I did get it but I could be mistaken.

you only get it from staying inside, not within the radius.

Got it; thanks!

Edit: And this way I can defend the city, too?

Sort of. The enemy can attack you outside the walls.
ah yeah, you're defense battles wont be inside, but you can just use common sense and enter before hand lol.

EDIT: reinforcements do rush out to join you in battle in the event you get caught outside. but you can generally see the enemy close in from a mile away.

I put my armies on ambush outside the city. With walls you can enter after you choose not to fight or you can fight an ambush possibly.

As long as the garrison joins you, I have no issue. In fact, I don't like city battles in WH.

Playing Bretonnia taught me to avoid staying in the castle. But the advantage of them is having cathedral of the lady which removes the bad trait every turn with the 30% chance.

And then going 20 turns without removing the traits.

hahah beat me to it, i get how probability works, but i've never seen it work despite constantly leaving people in their, maybe they've patched it since or i was just unlucky.

The only way I get bad trait is confederation and removing it through the building in practice it takes 5 turns. But some traits cannot be removed that way. Especially the ones that have scale. Insane is not considered bad because it can be switched to neutral effect.
