Settlement trading with allies
Nothing is more annoying than having 3/4 of a province, with an ally taking that last 1/4. I've even had it where I had 3/4 of on province, and 1/4 in the neighboring province. We should be able to trade ownership of a settlement to an ally, "Here, you take this one, I'll take that one and then we can both have a province bonus." But no, for some bizarre reason the game simply won't let you do that.

I really don't want to go to war with a #3 in power, 25-settlement strong Grimgor just to get an Altdorf province bonus, especially since we've been pretty chummy the whole time. If I attack him it will be a very long, very costly war, and I'm already fighting off Lothern, Blue Viper and Chaos attacks.

That region trading (unrestricted) is pretty useful but don't abuse it. It's pretty cheesy to buy out all your allies settlement. If you feel you can't hold yourself back just use the normal region trading mod that charges you gold for settlements.

Do you have a link for the mod? Any suggestions? Is it savegame compatible?

I tried it and it works fine. And it's save compatible. If you're really scared just save the game like Grimgor turn 150. Then download the mod and load. From then on save into a different name. If you ever encounter bugs (so far i haven't) just delete that mod and reload your Grimgor turn 150. Right now just go to the workshop mods section. It's right there on your warhammer game page. Type region and you'll see it.

Fantastic mod and I love it. Also gives you a way to do confederations a much slower way if all the settlements they own are in your province.

Bonus: Gift them settlements near ritual stacks, as the ritual stacks only ever attack you. When the stacks are gone, buy them back. :P

Awesome, thanks.

Hopefully this comes in WH3 without the need for a mod, and balanced into the gameplay.

To quote those High Elves in diplomacy

UNLIKELY

It was a feature in M2TW, but the AI was very bad at it. For instance, they'd be so happy to give you a peace treaty & trade they'd glady give you two major settlements. Invariably they'd declare war on you again, then you'd smash their stacks, ask for peace and get another settlement in the bargain.

The AI hasn't changed since M2TW, so if it was introduced exactly the same thing would happen...

That's unfortunate. It's always bothered me when you need to artificially handicap yourself in a game because it either doesn't work right or the AI does something retarded.
