How to rearrange unit order?

So ive seen several videos where people sort the unit cards and then are able to deploy the line in the same order that the unit card shows.

Example : spear sword sword spear

However whenever i do this it just does the default line.

Example : spear spear sword sword

Is there an option i have to toggle? Is there something im missing?

Only way ive found to do this is by making groups manually.

I'm not fully sure, but I've always been able to click and drag a unit card to a different position in the units list (when its not in a group), then I make a group and drag them out.

I haven't played the game in a while, but from my recent games in shogun 2 I noticed that you can only arrange them in such an order before the fight, in the army diployment phase. Then once the game starts they stay in that arrangement when I drag and click move orders.

Im not sure about the unit card shuffling. But you can Ctrl click in the order that you want your units to be from left to right and then drag them out.

Sometimes, if you group them together, they default back to unit type x, unit type y.

You'll only have to rearrange them then.

Othen than that, yeah. Just drag and drop the unit cards around.
