And what would be the greater gain on knowledge there?

Dragon Princes got pretty much standard values in terms of MA/MD when it comes to heavy cav, their AP is on the low end of heavy cav, they have no anti-large either. In other words - they are not good when used against other armored riders.
You could just as well send Hexwraiths against Grail Misfits of either sort, the outcome would be just as much "not surprising".

Eh, that's not entirely accurate. Dragon Princes are shock cav with better survivability tools than basically any other heavy cav outside of niche circumstances, and melee stats nearly in line with melee cav as long as martial mastery stays up. They might not be dominant but theyre decent enough.

The Fireborn RoR cranks their power up to the max by giving them 18 bonus vs large, fire damage and making them 9 veterancy, which puts their MA/MD in melee range baseline and over melee cav levels with martial mastery. Ironically, this means that the one cav they wont be very good against is other dragon princes.

Was talking abt regular Dragon Princes, got no clue yet abt RoR-stats. Admittedly a bit of a quick shot ;P.

Back on regular DP's tho - not doubting their usefulness and generally good stats, just stating that they're not good against heavy cav; 12 AP is just not much, and cav-fights are bound to be melee-clashes w/o much of a shock-momentum. At that point, it boils down to raw AP, anti large - stats in which DP's aren't anything special, infact, they instead are on the weak end vs most other top tier heavy cavalry units there.

Demigryphs with halberds will wreck ogres buddy as will the anti large grail knights and blood knights. But anyway dragon princes are fantastic heavy cav becuse they have physical resistence and have the stats at act as damn good melee cav too.

Still grail knights, blood knights and demigyphs hold the cav throne.
