If you are taking settlements you don't intend to keep, you are not Dorfing correctly.
They decided to attack some town of mine and the garrison killed them so i'm good now! i'll try and maintaining my towns a little better i suppose :D
Don't forget to demo any public order or obedience raising building too. Really though there is no harm to occupying a territory that isn't giving you much so far as I can see. Just don't bother defending it or building it up and either it will become a stable source of a little income for you or some rebels will show up and take it. Then you can smash them and raze it or sack it over and over because they probably won't defend it properly
