And no as tomb kings you do not join the race for the vortex.
There are 2 more books in the south attached to nasty 20 stacks. Hit them with a Tomb Prince (assault units) or sandstorm (rite) to weaken them and take them out, ( go for the Lord as the majority are lvl 5-9 units) at least you have a chance of them breaking.
As for strategy, What I did was conquer most of the desert area as you'll need building spots to increase construct unit spots. Then go for some of the books as they are far away (some in cities, most in rogue armies) and that requires atleast 2+ armies each or 1 powerful army.
Yeah, i got the first book from the Orcs people, dat battle and i destroyed the Tom King faction on the right (i'm Settra Faction), i thought i should have did an alliance with them but i suppose not really then!
Should i conquer the whole desert?
Thanks for the info!
The Rogue Armies, ideally, should be weakened as much as possible by sandstorms and hero actions before you engage them - the Pilgrims of Myrmidia sailing around Ulthuan, however, will always be at full strength and will, uniquely for these particular Rogue Armies, be limited to autoresolve, whereas the others MUST be fought.
Vulture Mountain, being dwarf territory, is a very nasty nut to crack, you'll want to build up a strong Tomb Guard and Ushabti army for that, or just hurl about four armies of Skeletons at it all at once.
The other settlements, typically The Awakening and Lost Plateau, are much nicer places to attack, unless you let them get taken over and fortified by stronger enemies - such as the Lizardmen of Xluanhuapec or the Dwarves of Karak Zorn. This is extremely rare, however, so you won't usually need to "rush" them and just let the city fall shortly after taking it.
