For everyone else there horrible.
Constantly blocking arrow fire, cavelry movement, unable to see anything.
General speaking i use tree's to sneak troops around or force the enemy into melee with my infantry.
Otherwise i try to avoid them as much as possible.
What the guy above me said is mostly true; however what he missed is the fact that for factions who lack good missile infantry, or in situations where the enemy has missile superiority, trees can still be a life saver.
In my experiences, regiments with small sizes do better in trees than bulky regiments.
It's also worth noting that a lot of Wood Elf units get bonuses for being in forests, and their archers generally have a rather high natural accuracy, making them better at shooting from tree cover, or into them.
"Forest" divide the speed and melee attack of "Large" units by five. So no, "Giants" do not enjoy being fighting in forest, except if you got the banner that gives the trait "Strider" (unaffected by terrain conditions.)
