Carrion Use
What's the best way to use Carrion with Tomb Kings besides as scouts? They always seem to die within seconds even when attacking a "low threat" unit in the rear. I've never had the best success with small flying units I suppose.

they are best used to harass artillery crew or skirmishers

Same as bats, tying archers and artillery.

Bats use is good. They can also "Mr. President" into the way of a charge to make sure a different unit remains standing if you're planning on replacing them out of the army. I should mention they lose to most other flying units (Like Harpies, bats, etc) so....yeah. Flock of Djaf is actually relatively serious though.

Tangle up archers, artillery crews, and if a high priority regiment is routing, send them to attack it until they shatter to ensure they don't come back.

Simply used to attack artillery crews, they cant match up against skirmishers or archers at all. Except the legendary variant, those are actually pretty good to destroy a unit of swordsman or a spear unit.
Great for chasing routers in choke point battles as well.

Pinning down faster targets until help arrives or dealing with UNPROTECTED artilery. They are pretty much useless for anything else and apart from artilery seem to lose against virtually anything flying or on the ground. Even those cheap bats the vamps have win against them.

And to make matters even worse they also seem to have an issue with getting stuck on enemy units so its way harder than it should be to extract them from a fight.

they are used to stop ranged units and artillery from firing while your army approaches, or to kill routing units so they dont rally. Also they can soften charges from cav or stop cav from moving so you can get a anti large infantry in the fight.

Charging them into the back of engaged units works really well to help break morale. Use them like cavalry, charge in, move out, charge in again.

Harrasing soft targets and picking off stragglers. The NPCs whenever I play like to send them in as a vanguard to tie up larger units before they charge up with their own guys.

the legendary regiment in combination with 2 normal vultures rock house, using them as cav with flank charges and so on.

Thank you for all the great replies.

Keep in mind theyre also good to tie down anti-large to buy time for your cavalry/chariots to steamroller the enemy skirmishers, since theyr small targets with good MD, while most anti large tends to have trash MA.
