Does a Hero have to be embedded with a Lord's Army for it's passive ability to work?

I have a Hero with +1 anti-corruption and I can't tell if it's working or not. I have him sitting outside one of my provinces with corruption. When I moved him in I didn't see any change in the corruption going down faster. Thanks!

Anti corruption or spread corruption, public order doesn't need embedding to work (but it still work properly even if embedded). If you point your mouse cursor on the symbol above the hero's head (when not embedded) yo uwil lsee the effect listed, including untainted +1.
Also, you can find back the amount of untainted provided by your chartacter in that province my hovering your cursor above the corruption stats when a settlement of that province is selected.
There will be "character +X" ifr some characters are affecting it.

Ohhh I wonder if this is bugged then. My Hero has "untainted +2 (local province)" listed as that was a special trait he had when I hired him. But it's not showing up when I hover over his head. All it's showing is that he's boosting the income for that local province.

What do you think? Or am I misinterpretting that special innate trait he has?
