Necropolis Knights useless?
I've been trying to use this unit for a while but it seems to be worse than a bunch of spear skeletons. This units get owned by pretty much anything, including skins (yeah they win but take a lot of damage). For now im skipping it in favor of the snake guys. Anyone else feels the same?

actually I felt the opposite. Among Khalida's starting units, the knights are by far the most valuable and reliable unit, whereas the stalkers unit feels underwhelming.

I've felt that Necropolis Knights were pretty strong as well. They're relatively fast, they have -ludicrous- mass, I literally ordered a squad to walk through three saurus warriors to attack a leader just to see if they could and they did, and they're competent combatants. Maybe not as good as some other races' leaderkilling tricks, but I think they might have a place.

Maybe I'm just not using them properly, but it feels to me that the stalkers would really need the ability "stalk" added (either as a temporary ability or as a passive) to make them a valuable t3 unit.

So, to my experience, Stalkers are kinda scary if you can get them to fire on lines, because their projectiles don't seem to 'stop.' I -would- like if Stalkers -had- Stalk, don't get me wrong, or something along those lines, but they -might- have more value then is easy to see.

You mean putting them in a position where they have a lot of enemies aligned when firing so it goes through everything? interesting, I'll try to do that next time.

The halberd variants in my unit play testing match up well against most other factions cav in one on one situations. They will be beat by the more elite cav but I keep a pair of halberd necroknights as anti cav defense

Use stalkers on a flank with a line of infantry and line them up so they are parallel to the flank, holy mother of god they do a ton of damage. I had one squad take out 2 lions of chrace with 3 lucky shots, they also do reasonably well back charging as they have high mass and do good AP damage.

They're mass is pretty small when compared to other similar units, only checking in at around 900.

Strange. They got through those Saurus pretty efficiently, only 4 were left behind in the second one, but maybe that's just my experience being the matter of variance (As in, I got -really- lucky and they just pushed through when they shouldn't have)

Sauros outright killed them on the first match. I've also had them lose to orc boars.

Oh, they'd lose in a one on one face-fight with Saurus, that's not even a question I thought we were answering. I was talking about them pushing -through- Saurus, as in, being issued move-orders to just -shove- their way through. And I know for a fact they'll win against more then a few lords and they'll win fast one v squad, while being somewhat inconvenient to escape thanks to the poison and their decent speed.

I thought maybe a T5 unit could at least hold against a t1 unit with no buffs <.< , the stalker have won against similar foes though. Other than a bit a of speed they seem quite medicore for what they do.

T4 unit* Specialist unit*. Fighting units that they're not specialized against*. They're good vs Armor and have poison attacks to stop their enemy from skirmishing away, and Saurus generally trade up pretty decently, don't have great armor, and don't like skirmishing away (Not fleeing when they normally would, instead rampaging)

I understand where you're coming from, but Saurus are pretty cost effective, and as I understand it Boar Boy Big Uns were pretty popular for a while. If you're referencing regular Boar Boys...well, numbers out. It might be you -need- to support Necropolis Knights to get the best out of them. -shrugs- Hard to say.

either I can't use the Necropolis Knights, or they're trash
Ashmodath Jan 24, 2018 @ 6:56pm
whenever I send them up against a single unit of nehekara horsemen, they die, or any other standard unit for that matter
