Fighting the undead

So whats the best strategy to fight the undead, as I haven't played as them and they always get OP in my campaigns. I've learned while playing as dwarfs the best thing I can do is lock them up in close combat and hold long enough for my lord to kill their wizard and let all the zombies and skeletons crumble throughout the fight. Are there any other btter tactics or strategyanybodys used?

They have no ranged units. Some flying and some cav but zero ranged.

Also Undead tend to clump up a lot and are slow so AoE spells will deal maxiuam damage.

Also weak to fire I believe so if your playing a faction that has a fire mage/fire units theyd do pretty good

That's if you don't get radious. In Radious the units are way more varried and Undead have skeletal archers.

You’ve pretty much nailed it already, especially as dorfs.

Due to the no magic thing for dorfs, try and engage them with your front line troops, used your ranged from flanks to get maximum troop kills, keep thier flying units busy and away from your killer melee lord.

Then as soon as you can safely send your lord to kill thiers, do so. Kill the lord, the rank and file just disintegrate shortly after.

What's the whole point of this in the actual topic ? Are you payed to make publicity or something ?

The best way to deal with Undead are ranged units and anti-large. Their monsters are powerful and their infantery is definitly not top tiers, even their elite infantery. Protect your ranged unitsand shot them all dead. Targeting their lords is also a good strategy.

murderizing the lord always works for me. that and lots of fire (burning head melts zombies since they cant move out of the way of it)

Assassinate the lords. They are SO dependent on leadership boosts and Vampire spellcasters are pretty powerful in general. I find anti-large artillery works well for killing even non-large heroes (it's not cost-effective, on paper, but it can kill squishy necromancers VERY quickly).

You can also use duelist heroes to run them down, but you might have trouble slogging past the hundreds of melee troops to get to them, so see if you can get the army engaged first, then send your assassin around back.

Yup. Kill their leaders, focus them down. Army dies.

Don't charge, let them come to you and let your range units kill them as them come.Dwarfs have the best defensive units in the game and some of the best range units.Killing undead leaders is always one of the best ways to deal with them and always have hero's in your army,

Go watch some youtube videos to see how others play them.

Yeah against the undead i typically form almost a box and draw them in while firing with range and arty then try to flank around the sides and hold out until they crumble.

Beware the corpse cart clusters they are hard to chew ;)

You should play around with brimstone gyros, flame cannons, and irondrakes more. Undead units with regeneration are allergic to fire, and the dwarfs have a good variety of fire units you can bring to a battle.
