What Do I have to Buy to Play Wood Elves in Warhammer II ?

If I own Warhammer II there is no DLC for Wood Elves. Can I just buy the Wood Elves DLC from Warhammer to make them available in Warhammer II, or do I have to buy that DLC and the core Warhammer game as well?

You have to buy the Wood Elf DLC from Warhammer 1. I'm assuming you're on ME (Mortal Empires)

You have to buy the Base game and the DLC, Steam doesn't let you buy DLC for games you don't own. I'm not sure if buying it from somewhere else and using the key would work though.

you have to own total war warhammer 1 and then buy the realm of the wood elves dlc

You can only play the factions from the first game in the mortal empires mode, which requires the first game.

Old thread but though I would add that Creative Assembly has announced a new upcoming Wood Elves DLC for TWWH2 which will add a WE legendary lord and faction to Vortex Campaign + a whole mess of goodies if you own Mortal Empires and WH1 WE DLC https://www.totalwar.com/blog/dev-blog-july-2020/

Yeah CA has done a decent job of adding some old world factions to the vortex campaign, quite good of them.

Is it really necessary to necro a year old thread just to inform the OP--who might already be well aware of all this now in the present, or not care anymore? What are you trying to accomplish?
