Undercity mechanics?
Not a big fan of unexplained mechanics, and haven't found an answer. Before I develop my undercities any further, has anyone found how the mechanics work? Is the undercity discovery # a straight % chance of being discovered? How much do heroes affect discovery? How can I see a city that I have an undercity under (it would be nice to know what buildings the enemy has built)?

If I find anything I'll post it later.

no, it's not a %. It's either you're above the threshold to be discovered and you're automatically discovered, or you're below and you're not as long as yo ustay that way.
The threshold is at 100 by default, but some buildings, as well as any enemy hero in the vicinity of the settlement will lower it (30 for the building and 10 / hero afaik).

So if you want to be safe, make sure to stay away of 30-50 from the current threshold, just in case there's sudden changes from the enemy's heroes position and the like.
I woulkd say that if you keep your discovery level at 50 or lower, you have pretty much only to worry about the setttlement being razed.
Oh, and early game since no one has several hero, you can even dare to go higher with low risk involved, just be sure to change that before the AI starts to produce too many heroes.

Its discovered if it reaches the max. discoverablity.
The AI can build something that reduces the maximum as well as get heroes in the area that adds 10.

Your under-cities are marked with a big green skaven symbol and to see what buildings they got in their settlement you can click the tiny arrow where the buildings are displayed

Well there you go; thanks for the quick responses.

Strange, I built an under city was at 30/100 and suddenly was discovered in the event panel however it was not marked with the red blob to say it was discovered. Will see how things proceed

Have just started to play as VC in a new game after the newest patch was installed. Looks super cool, what I have seen so far - more cities somewhere and the undercity. And the latter makes me wonder... cannot find any text on it after a cursory look around. So here a question...

One of the cities I have taken contains an undercity. Nice warning. Nice red trianlge next to the city info on the campaigne map.

How do I destroy it? I do not seem to be able to do anything about ot - no response button, no action possible for the lord. Do I have to wait till the city has grown large enough in order to build the anti-undercity construction? Will that destroy the undercity?

I have placed the question here because it is an Undercity mechanic.

Thanks kindly from Denmark.

Have you tried hero actions on the city? (I dunno if that works btw, just guessing)

Not yet - will try, thanks.

Nope. Not a hero. But there is a small button next to the city, which will show you who owns the undercity in your ciry and a button to destroy it plus tell you how much it will cost. Nice feature.
Enjoy the game friends.

Had an undercity discovered while at 60 stealth. At the time I was building a stealth building that would have added another -30 or so to that rating. I assume that once discovered, one might as well destroy stealth buildings so you get some gold back, or do the amount of buildings you have under a city affect how much it costs to destroy an undercity?

I've already asked this elsewhere, but here is the real place for this:
Do undercities count as regioncontrol? In my ME-Game with ikit, I took the village south, but built an undercity there... (killed the beastmen afterwards in turn two, because I didn't reach them, after I got my warlock in my army.) I think, it would be good, if undercities count to Provincecontrol, so you can make them at cities, not suitable for your race. (like the one of the pestilence-clan in your starting province...) and still make edicts.

Second question: will undercites be destroyed, if the city above is destroyed by another army?
The description says, that at every city, village or ruin, there can be an undercity of the skaven. You can't set undercities to ruins, though...

1) You can check your current region control stats ingame in the faction informations (the round button top right of your screen with your faction emblem on it).

so short answer.. no it doesn't, and rightfully so, since once discovered it only takes a bit of gold to get removed.

2)yes they will be destroyed with the city above it.

i find it quite fun, doing a one city challenge with ikkit starting in skavenblight is a nice change of pace.

Quick question guys. When I take a city, is it worth establishing a Under City over actually occupying the settlement?

I understand the stealth element of having a Under City and what its building offer, but is it worth it over taking control of the province?

Cheers.
The main advantage is that you don't need to defend it which means that you can get by with less armies.

I find that hard to motivate. Don't ♥♥♥♥ where you eat so to speak.
That is, undercities should be established far away from where you actually are so that you do not get conflicting goals of military expansion/defense and undercity preservation.

If you are winning battles against settlements with a lord, I'm assuming that a vast majority of the time you want to actually conquer that territory OR exterminate an enemy. In neither of those cases do you want an undercity - occupy or raze.
It's pretty much the same issue as vampire coves except more pronounced.
