How many turns average?
So I'm wondering how slow i am completing the campaign in comparison to others. So i beat Aranessa's vortex campaign on medium/medium difficulty in 226 turns, the first 1 hundred turns i only owned like 4 regions but i once i got an opening i started grabbing up land right quick. I forgot how long it took me to beat Alariel's vortex on medium campaign/hard battle, but i think it was around 200 aswell. On her mortal empires campaign I'm at 196 turns and all thats left is to finish off naggarond and those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Norsca tribes, unfortunately I god bored of the attrition wars in the north so i decided to try my hand at pirating so i jumped on Aranessa's.

Jeepers dude, thats quick. It took me that long just to figure out wtf to do. I thought i didn't have to conquer so i tried to do pirate coves at first but.... Regardless I'm a slow starter, and it takes me some time to reconfigure my armies for the next war or refocus.

Most of my ME campaigns are over 300+ turns. You can reduce this by following the short ME campaign victory conditions.

Well if you definitly can if you play your cards well. I played slow and could have beaten the Vortex campaign at turn 9X but decided not too. So it's very possible. I was playing as Count Noctilus though.

I don't finish most of my campaigns, because after 150+ turns they become a slog. I finished the final battle on my Khalida Vortex campaign around turn 180, I think, and it was the only one truly "finished" IIRC. Tomb Kings campaign is much better than standard Vortex campaign IMO.

Traditionally Total War games don't have a good end-game and WH2 is no exception. That's why usually I enjoy early-to-mid game the most (something like the first 80-100 turns). Vortex campaign is not bad, but I really wish that there was a mod which would speed it up so you would gain ritual currency faster, rituals would last 5-6 turns instead of 10 turns and the average campaign length would be considerably shorter. Unfortunately, the longer the campaign lasts, the more boring it becomes. Sure, you have more armies, heroes and provinces, but this only means that an average turn takes much longer to complete and at some point all the micromanagement involved simply becomes unfun.

you are right of course some of the conditions for "victory" are ridiculously tedious. Thats why I haven't finish Alariel the Radiant's campaign, because the norsca are hell of annoying because of the massive attrition damage you get, at the same time my New World Incursion Team is wrapping up the last of the Naggarond pests so i can't exactly concentrate all my forces into the north

No idea since I generally end my games before a certain point. After you get to have your races general home area (like badlands for orcs) you're pretty much unstoppable unless you really play poorly or declare war on literally everyone. Especially easy since in my experience ai doesnt build garrisons often making it easily to blitz.

My early ME camppaigns were 280+ turns. (Legendary) Once I figured out the map and factions and typical AI behaviors they got shorter. Now I usually get the long victory before turn 180 unless I completely goof on reading/chasing the victory conditions.

Those are all rookie numbers. Got a ME campaign with Morathi at turn 427 and still not finished. All of Naggaroth, Lustria, Ulthuan and the entire Old World are a corrupted slave pit.

Oh wow; tell me, what is left for you to take?

More importantly, how is that campaign still interesting to you? Do you simply like to paint the whole map the same colour?

People play how and why they want to play. If they are having fun, what's it to you?

I'm just curious. No criticism here.
there are some startpos. where I almost need 100 turns to secure the starting province lol. Especially somewhere in Lustria ;_;

i have Durthu/wood elf ME campaign still going at around turn 313 i think.

since i mostly raze everything it gets retaken eventually by the ai & my forest is too well defended for any body to level it.

there is still the vampires that are screwing with the empire and dwarfs but are currently cowering in the mountains probably gonna get wiped out soon
kislev & some random rouge army that appeared around turn 170-190~ are in the far east near hellpit fighting for ages now

down south east
green skins are still around but very small stuck inbetween another rouge faction called vashnaars conquest - the last defenders lizardmen and the tombking *who are huge something like 30 settlements*

over in lustria Itza is massive and Hexotyl is all along the top side reaching up to the ancient city of quintex, still fighting with the vampire coast but i think its sort of a love hate relationship where they fight but not to wipe each other out lol

up north clan rictus, lothern with all LL confederated except alith anar's faction was killed off, cult of pleasure*confederated all DE too* have been fighting each other over the sword of khaine since the beginning and the territory has changed constantly but lothern is loo - even bretonnia managed to get a few settlements there for a time but eventually was wiped out
their turn time was so damn long they had so many pointless armies consisting of a lvl 2-5 lord and 4-5 units of peasant infantry, So i just destroyed them

Cult of pleasure, tomb kings and clan rictus are the biggest factions in terms of owned settlements
im just defending my forest against everybody i have no friends, but the ai cannot make stupid doomstacks like chaos do when they spawn in so they have no chance

only thing that i think that could get at my forest is skaven undercity nukes but i dont think the ai makes under cities

its been quite a fun game had armies consisting of only dyrads, treekin, treeman going around raiding an razing like a feral horde & making calvary/flying armies that just kite and troll everything
