Whats really different this game is that minor empires are actually taking a lot of ground, actually there is a minor Savage Orc group that has occupied much of the Empire lands in my game.
Its weird that minor groups are gaining a lot of ground, Im on turn 100.
As for Kemmler, notice the follower he starts with. He's easy to miss and gives a rather nice bonus.
Finally, as someone whose favourite faction is VC... if you think they suck, I suspect you're doing it wrong. Sure, you can use the free skeleton spam, but only for backup armies. Your real backbone should be grave guards backed up by a necromancer hero and/or corpse carts(lodestone), with a couple of heavy hitters thrown in for good measure.
One caveat: I don't usually fight with them against HE. I also usually play with a no regen cap mod, because that's how the game started out and they were balanced with that assumed.
I rather one army powerful doomstack handle a.i many doomstack, than many cheapstack vs one a.i doomstack, too much clickable here and there, but I don't mind if something 4 or 5 cheap zombie army stack into one stack (basic 20 spot army into 60 spot for zombie and skelete only, no other faction can fill out, not even vampire's higher tier, just zombie/sketelet can make that many in one stack so I don't had to click each stack together to overcome single a.i doomstack, it's might be bearable, but vampire lord/lady, hero should be powerful with all superspeed, super endurance and super strength, but it's don't feel like that, but I guess I watch too much super power vampire movie/tv like twilight, originals vampire, vlad the impaler as one man army.
But nevertheless of what vampire should and how to play to each own ideas, currently vampire count don't feel powerful (not vampire coast, they are ok, and petty powerful in their own right)
and not fun to play like early game when vampire come out, and had blood kiss patch.
Vampire Count is just felt weak and cheap, had to chesse away somehow. I know since I play vampire count more than any factions I played, I know how it's work. Not impressive since after blood kiss patch. Vampire Coast is on otherhand are great, they had very powerful Necrofex Colossus, Tomb King had few cool yet powerful to handle other a.i doomstack, but what vampire count got? blood knight? Cavalry wasn't that great in this game, because too much click here and there. terrorgheist? not most cost effective and die easy vs doomstack, like dwarf or empiore with full fire based gun, just like blood knights. Other faction like vampire coast had easy making ton of money and can afford high tier due gameplay, just as tomb king do, more city they had, more powerful they had, but vampire count? they don't see much stronger but always weak, always need money for high tier, you could go many cheap army stack (noted, not doomstack, it's cheapstack, that's difference) but too much work click 4 or 5 together to just overcome one doomstack and had to travel together all the time to ensure a.i don't destroy your cheapstack one by one.
