Rotate formation?
I know you can move your formation around when you select the units, press alt and then drag, but is there also a way to rotate that formation?

With rotating you mean that the soldiers turn around basically? I think it is the L key iirc.

No, lets say I deploy on a hill with the expectation that the enemy would come at me straight away. However, during the Ai movement they're not moving in a straight line and thus in order to maintain my formation I might have to rotate it 60 degrees to maintain the defensive line against the Ai.

this, after holding alt then pressing left click, while holding left click down you can let go of alt and still move around, then when you want hold control and then instead of moving around it will rotate the unit/s and or formation you are dragging around
