How do i get a warpstone settlement without declaring war ?
So... i'm doing the Skaven campaign, and i ended up in a fairly bad situation were i totally forgot about getting the first warpstone settlement for the first part of the ritual (i focused more on conquering the closest cities on the map to level up a bit), and it got stealed by a rival Skaven clan. Now... first of all, ok that, as the plot says, Skaven backstabs each other everytime, but i personally want to keep relationships with my own kind good, and second... this clan has advanced units, while mine it's still basically at the start and will surely be crushed in no time. Diplomacy with them won't work because my reputation seems to not be high enough. Is there a way to solve this without bloodshed ? Or should i start the game from the beginning ? ^^"

if you're skryre, yes through a doomsphere, but it's quite long (16 turns+) and costly.
But the truth is, it doesn't matter if you didn't take it. Focus on properly expanding, getting the best eco you can, increasing your empire. It doesn't matter if you're late in the vortex race.

Uh... if you say so ^^"

Confederation will be available eventually, but honestly, just expand elsewhere. You can win the vortex campaign without ever performing a ritual.

I tought that doing rituals was the purpose of the whole campaign tho ^^"

It's the purpose, but you can still go for a domination victory instead.

Yes, but if you eliminate all the competition, you’re the only one competing. Thusly, victory by default.

I went for Confederation (playing as Queek), gave the clan some money and signed non aggression pact right at the beginning whilst started to eliminate the Fortress of Dawn (which also raised their attitude towrds me) and later the lizard guys. Eventualy the other clan showed up too to sign treaties and they like what I was doing too. Once the confederation is done you can single handedly eliminiate all opposition or do the rituals. I went for the ritual way to see what it gives whilst terrorizing the unlucky remaining opposition.

Vortex is easy. Most races get rekt by chaos stacks anyway

Sounds like a good tip. I will keep that in mind (since i'm also playing as Queek), thanks ^^

Also, if any faction gets to the final ritual before you, you get a chance to fight them in the final battle, and it's not a hard fight. If you win it, they're out of the race permanently.

So even if you fall behind, and also don't manage to win through domination before they reach the end, all you have to do is win that final battle to stop them winning.

In that event, you have unlimited time to complete your rituals.

More often than not, they struggle on the 2nd and 3rd ritual against the chaos stacks

Oh, that's perfect. I still have to get advanced units for my clan (and i personally still have to get better at battles in general) but if it can eventially be solved all in one fight, that's very good ^^
