Late game I just swap out MOST of unit's for higher tier counterparts, fairly straight forward.
Really? Well whatever it was, it was a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago and I had a laptop with a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ graphics card. So, it's like karma now, that I have one of the best gaming laptops in the world! :D
Except that laptops are crap and always surpassed by desktops
this will 100% end in another "follow this tier system i point out for you" threads
There's no rule or system that will consistently produce the best army, regardless of how you define "best", and it'll vary far too much depending on what specific faction you're playing anyway.
Khalida (with True Blessing of Asaph + Rank 3 Arrows of Asaph + Blessing of the Asp + Casket Ammunition Tech + Damage Casket Tech)
2 x Liche Priest of Nehekhara (fully specced into Ptra's Incantation of Righteous Smiting)
5 x at Rank 7+ Casket of Souls
12 x Whatever you think will hold a strong line. You may want to consider a few specific blocking units for flyers. But really all they need to do is hold. Consider a Tomb Prince with a Halbard and Tomb Strike as well for any specific anti-large targets.
Set out army at furthest distance possible from opponent
Array Casket of Souls in a circle around Khalida's True Blessing of Asaph buff.
Array holding forces in blocking positions.
Start dropping Ptra's Incantation of Righteous Smiting on Caskets.
It'd never work against human players but there is very, very little that the AI will throw at you that'll walk through that firestorm and set-up. It'll also butcher garrisons in sieges.
( This is a mid to late game build but considering how fast VCoast can upgrade... Anyway, first turns just fill with what you can recruit/afford )
-Cylostra ( Promethean mount, that ward save banner from techs, every ward save you can get, Khaine is also great )
-3 mourngul heros ( All named Eddy because Iron Maiden )
-Some syrens, depth guards and depth guards with polarms, about 2 of each. ( Just in case you have a wall to climb )
-Queen Bess
-Fill with tons of necrofex clossossi
Gameplay is like that :
-Only send Cylostra into the crowd and Vangheist Revenge whenever you can.
-Mourngull heros are used to spawn behind the enemy, it is possible in almost all treasure island maps. In siege, use the Eddies to destroy another gates and sneak them into enemy the enemy castle.
- Necrofexes and Bess lined up and spamming fire at will
-Infantry playing cards untill some threat appears.
I suggest you only fight these treasure islands at first ( Fast XP, nice gear, nice cash ) and do mostly siege battles. Bess and Collossi will clear them walls and send only Cylostra to have a nice blob around her. Best I got was 890 kills only with Cylostra.

Elf focus(1)
Glade lord on dragon or eagle x1
Life Mage 1x
4x ethernal guards
4xbows( Tier 1-3)
3 eagle riders(to harres their lines, protect my bows from cavaraly, suicide the enemy artillery or protect my flying lord from other flying lords)
4x wild riders(good for flanking, harassing their bows or protecting my flanks)
2xtree man
1x sisters of thorn for the magic
Elf focus (2)
Glade lord on food or horse(need the wardancers banner and skills for them )
Mage( lore of shadow since we need to end the battle as quickly as possible since wardancers aren't really famous for holding the line, so we are going to need to lower their leadership and very importantly their armor so that the wardancers can mow through them )
4x war dancers with spears for holding the line
4x war dancers with dual swords to flank around the enemy and cut through their lines as quickly as possible
4x waywatchers
2xwild riders riders (to hold the enemy cavaraly from our infantry)
2x sisters of thorn to buff up the wild riders with more endurance and get some poison damage on the enemy cavaraly so that it takes longer for them to kill the wild riders
2x dragons(they are the catalysts for this tactic, while the lines are about to clash they will try to help here and there, use some breath, the usual. And now after the wardancers with dual weapons have started to flank and inflicted a bit damage to the enemy infantry, (thanks to the lowering of the armor debuff from your mage) , can the dragons now crash into their main battle line causing fear to nearby enemies and in combination with the lowering of the leadership with the magic, will cause the main line to terror route for a few second. But since the) your war dancers are Damm fast + the lowering from the poison of the dragons and sisters of thorn which slows them, will the enemy not be able to escape and come back later again and will be instead be slaughtered in seconds by the war dancers. At this point will their cavaraly probably already have killed your wild hunters, but who cares cause you can just use your war dancers with spears with the help of the waywatchers to kill their cavaraly and use the eagles+dual war dancers to annihilate their archers
