Setting not saving, no config files found

Hi everyone ! After reinstalling the game on my hard drive, it seems the game never close properly (taking like 1 minut to do so and putting a black screen).
In game, everything is fine.
My graphic settings are never saved when i come back to the game after shutting it down, also i don't find any config or setting.ini file , in both of my harddrive.
Verifying steam cache don't do anything more, same as re installing the game.
Nvidia driver is up to date btw.

Same here, although my W2 seems to close normally. Settings are not saved, file in scripts/ folder is not written.

You can tinker with values manually in the file, and it works, but saving through the game still does not.

yeah i have no ini file in the directory and the folder is set to read only change it from read only and i was able to create an ini and my setting saved

I had this issue as well! Uninstalling GeForce Experience solved it for me.

Installing geforce doesnt do anything for me, but the solution thule give us works for me ! (creating the file and changing the config inside the ini). Solved, thank you !

I fixed it!

By... installing Warhammer 1. Interestingly enough, after removing w1, I can still change settings, and they still save, even if I delete preferences.script.txt.

Also, noticed 2 things:
1) previously, while I was experiencing the bug, when exiting the game, it was showing black screen with a wait cursor for about 2 seconds, and now it is not.
2) Not only scripts folder used to be empty in Warhammer 2 settings dir, but all the other folders as well.

Based on that, I can assume there is a bug in a launcher that assumes w1 is installed, and it crashes the game while performing first-time settings dir setup. After installing w1 and running w2 with it installed, the necessary files got created, and all is peachy.

That's my theory anyway.

The latest version of Geforce Experience 3.20.0.118 may be the culprit, as there are no issues on 3.19.0.107

yeah my issue was fixed by uninstalling Geforce Exp
