How to make money with Nakai?
Is it just from taking cities? because so far what I have earned does not seem to be nearly enough to support me when I will end up in the negative since he has no economy to have an income. Normally hordes get bigger chunks of money from sacking but he does not sack only takes and makes a city and the amount i got was small but that might be because it was skaven.

Good to know! I think most or some player do not under how to play as Nakai, yes very limited army and very hard to make money, but key is you shouldn't worry about village/town, just keep attacking village/town and moving on, not worry about manage of town/village meanwhile gave your vassel a army every 20 turn when doing a rite thing. Be carefree, that's how I won game, don't need army much.

Yeah I just went around building new temples. Early game, Wulfhart sieged one of my towns and by the time he got through to that town, I sacked 3 of his.

But that playthrough didn't work too well because I wasn't sure which old god to build temples for, since you don't know what buffs they give. By turn 150, I basically got to near halfway with the Saurus buff (+8 MD and +6 MA to all Saurii) and maxed the Kroxigor and Sacred Kroxigor one (+10% weapon str, -10% recruitment cost, +2 recruit rank, and something else I forgot).

I didn't get a Kroxigor Ancient though, because he doesn't have any upkeep reduction, he's just a super powerful melee lord, possibly stronger than Saurus Oldblood on a Carno mount, at least when fighting infantry. But no minus upkeep skills except blue line makes Kroxigor Ancient kinda useless to me, when I play LZM, I usually don't need that -15% upkeep because Kroq Gar already has a factionwide -10%, and LZM cities make good money. Nakai here gets the short end of the stick in both money-making and upkeep reduction (except his own army which is at minimum -30% upkeep, not including the quest-bound one for Krox and Sacred Krox).

I too think the tech that gives + armies to Nakai should be changed to minus upkeep instead, because even right now, Nakai can't even field 3 armies. And by the time he can field 3 armies, he basically owns the whole of Lustria and DE lands. The current max, which is something like 7 or 8, is simply unnecessary. Might as well remove his army cap altogether since economy will be his soft cap anyway.

Similar for me by turn 100+ I was struggling just to get a 2nd army. Was holding about maybe a 1/4 or so of Lustria. Not sure what the point of increasing his army count if he cant bloody afford it without having an army at sea for sea treasures.

Use vassal tribute blessing and request money when needed, otherwise maul armies and settlements (you get cash from both) and go for upkeep bonuses on your armies.

It could probably use a smidge of an increase but its not unmanagable as is

To me, it just feels like they completely missed the point. You get a decent amount when taking stuff/killing people, but constant attrition and needing to camp the moment you've moved a bit really take the wind out of your sails. And besides that you're focused on Kroxigor, which easily die to the ranged spearmen of Norsca, and as per my experience, your saurus don't last long against Norse berserkers or any Norse frontline unit, really. So Nakai in his current form is unplayable, at least in ME.
As someone who plays a lot of lizardmen games, I’ve found that a great combination for taking on tougher factions like Norse is to use Saurus Shields, and back them up with any kind of ranged unit or Kroxigors, and then use Salamander packs to run down the Norse ranged units to protect your infantry lines. Their spear men are easily dealt with by the Saurus Shields, and you can gradually wear them down with spells or an Engine of the Gods

as some have said its mostly battles and sacks, especially battles, with vassals proving a nice basic income. Your armies should be providing enough cash though conquest to pay forthei r upkeep most of the time, but you need to be very aggressive to get a decent income, and its always going to be a little less than other factions. your vassals can boost your strength though

I tried him for few turns. Despite the fact, that LM are one of least favourite races in a game for me, so I don't really force myself to like them for at least something, in comparison with rest of horde/ even semi horde factions they absolutely lack swiftness and flow of campaign and playing him feels like complete garbage tier poor guy.

Even with offerings, much better tech tree and overall richer gameplay perspective, it doesn't even border a chaos game experience.
