Yeah I just went around building new temples. Early game, Wulfhart sieged one of my towns and by the time he got through to that town, I sacked 3 of his.
But that playthrough didn't work too well because I wasn't sure which old god to build temples for, since you don't know what buffs they give. By turn 150, I basically got to near halfway with the Saurus buff (+8 MD and +6 MA to all Saurii) and maxed the Kroxigor and Sacred Kroxigor one (+10% weapon str, -10% recruitment cost, +2 recruit rank, and something else I forgot).
I didn't get a Kroxigor Ancient though, because he doesn't have any upkeep reduction, he's just a super powerful melee lord, possibly stronger than Saurus Oldblood on a Carno mount, at least when fighting infantry. But no minus upkeep skills except blue line makes Kroxigor Ancient kinda useless to me, when I play LZM, I usually don't need that -15% upkeep because Kroq Gar already has a factionwide -10%, and LZM cities make good money. Nakai here gets the short end of the stick in both money-making and upkeep reduction (except his own army which is at minimum -30% upkeep, not including the quest-bound one for Krox and Sacred Krox).
I too think the tech that gives + armies to Nakai should be changed to minus upkeep instead, because even right now, Nakai can't even field 3 armies. And by the time he can field 3 armies, he basically owns the whole of Lustria and DE lands. The current max, which is something like 7 or 8, is simply unnecessary. Might as well remove his army cap altogether since economy will be his soft cap anyway.
It could probably use a smidge of an increase but its not unmanagable as is
Even with offerings, much better tech tree and overall richer gameplay perspective, it doesn't even border a chaos game experience.
