TK are a strange faction, your damage comes from constructs and archers. The archers don't look like much, but their huge unit size melts enemy troops quite reliably for most of the game.
If your micro is good, 2 chariots. If it isn't - no chariots. Those things have to be babysitted to no end.
Frontline: 6 to 9 tombguard depending on what makes you feel most comfortable. These guys are there to hold the line, not necessarily to kill.
Serpant kav. .. I don't like any of the serpant units due to their low unit size but they can be used to good effect if used carefully and not against dedicated anti large units - try 2 in an off army, if you like them take them into setras stack. Avoid stalkers though. They are even worse than flamethrowers (aka very good if used right, absolutly worthless if used wrong)
Tomb Scorpions: In late midgame those things will win almost every battle for you. They are extremly good infantry killers and therefor linebreakers.
Ushabti: They are crap unless fielded in an army with support skills for them. (lord with red line, techs, necrotec support..) but IF you can buff them they will perform very nicely. Just don't stick them into the enemy frontline without infantry support of your own, better yet - try to use them as hammer for your tomb guard anvil.
Archers: Already said my piece on them.. 4 to 6 is what I like here (depending on how many Tomb Guard I got with me)
Warsphring and regular Sphinx.. : the anti large sphinx LOOKS cool, but is mostly a wasted slot. If you expect heavy monster use out of your enemy, take one, but keep in mind that tombguard helbadiers, serpant knights with halberds and to an extend ushabti already do the same thing while archers are usually among the best monster killers for any faction. Warsphinx is a beast and a half. They are very good, so if you want 2 or 3? go for it :)
Titans: I love them, but they are bad. Don't use them or if you have to only 1 which you keep far - FAR away from enemy archers to avoid sadness. (I really do love these guys..)
Skeleton Kav: Ignore at all costs unless you need early game kav, which should be never since TK chariots are better unless you stick them into the enemy line and forget about them.. at which point the skeleton kav will also just die, so ..tie I guess? Use chariots instead.
My army suggestion:
1 of each hero, 6 Tomb Guard, 5 Archers, 2-3 Warsphinx, 1 Casket, Fill up with whatever you want. If you need space, kick one of the archers. This army is easy to use (Casket forces them to engage on your terms, then smash the Tomb Guard into the enemy line and walk over them with your sphinxes while assassinating the enemy lord with your hero swarm).
I would recommend a Shadow or Light Lich-Priest - depending on what you feel more comfortable with and if you got Shadows unlocked. Nehekkara is not very good and Setra is already having it if you want it in the army.
Please note that everything I wrote here is aimed towards a single player campaign and is fundamentally untrue for multiplayer.
