Tips for properly using Ikit
Been on a hiatus for a while, decided to go back to skaven after messing with the latest DLC.

I've played Ikit Claw before of course, but recently I've decided to do a very hard/maybe legendary co op campaign with a friend of mine. Before now I've used normal difficulty, meaning i have just shoved points into random skills and built any building that takes my fancy.

Now though, i actually have to use this guy seriously, as i'm pretty sure i'm going to get utterly wrecked unless i'm careful. So, what skill trees should i prioritise when using Ikit? What kind of units should i be putting in his army, and which one of those wonderful weapons teams should i be using most?

Most of all, should i use him properly in battle? I don't know if either of his mounts are any good, and i dont know what ruin spells are actually good now.

Get him on doomwheel and have a squad of doomweel and doom flayers. Use it as cav and flank while having range for support.

Spec him balance. Have lightning strike, AOE item, most of his physical buffs, and spammable skills.

Honestly I just use him mostly as a warplighting battery with a second engineer as a companion. He's probably one of the most devestating casters in the game. Spec for his spells until the doomwheel then he gets to be a mobile disruption tank as well. He's actually very resilient. Still rely on spells for killing but he can take damage like nobodies buisness. Almost like having power armor in a fantasy setting is a bit of an advantage lol.

I spec him for spamming lots and lots of weapon teams. The main line of his army for me is 8 ratling gunners. Jezzails to snipe anything large, doom flayers to pin down anything small, and some artillery to destroy walls and make enemies come to me. The -50% upkeep on weapon teams makes it very easy to maintain an army of normally expensive units, even early in the campaign. Beyond army support, I give him a doomwheel mount and some of his unique skills so that he can function better in melee.
