Battle always outside of settlement!

I got walls on level 3 around my settlements but everytime I have to defend outside of the city. Next round I will be attacked by an superior army and I cant win outside of my walls. When will you fix this annoying bug?

if you attack them, you sally forth into an open field battle.

if they attack you, you fight them at your walls

If I get attacked I am not allowed to defend my city inside the walls.

the first "wall" upgrade is just a garrison not walls, is that the problem?

If its your army are you sure that the army is actually inside the town and just isn't very close to it; thus at a glance appearing to be inside the settlement, when its not. Thus having to fight outside the walls because the army isn't within them

Sounds like he is initiating it as he says the next round he will be attacked by a superior force, most likely and additional army coming his way. He just seems unable to accept that sallying forth means you leave your defensive walls.

well while in the subject of sieges not working properly. I once initiated a siege battle where I attack enemy wall. Except, it spawn me in an open map. I'm sure I was attacking a walled settlement because I made a siege tower. The siege tower spawned normally into the battle. I just lost it at that point and end my session.

Any explanation?

<.< I think maybe he attacked an army that sieges his walls so his men try to attack or they help an army that is near. Never had a bug where they just attack random without an order when not helping an allied army or his own men.

Are you Wood Elves? Wood Elves apperently cannot possibly learn how to fight from inside a walled settlement and will always come out. Learning to shoot arrows from atop walls, or fighting at gated entries is just too much for them,....

Im not new to TW.... If my town gets attacked, I can either defend from the inside or defend outside. But not in warhammer 2 (mortal empires campain). In W2 I cant defend from the inside of my townm even if I have walls.

You have walls on the settlement (and crenellations on the settlement name).
Your army is inside the walls.
You aren't playing Wood Elves.
The enemy is attacking you.

...and you still end up with a field battle.

Yeah that's a bug. Not one I've ever encountered myself.
