It gets easier when you beat the first army, because then you can use the Vortex Spells every 30 seconds to deal horrible damage to the enemy, and heal your troops.
My elite stack was something like this:
1 Malekith on Seraphon
1 Sorceress (Fire) on Dark Pegasus
1 Death Hag on Cauldron of Blood
2 Bolt Thrower
2 War Hydra
1 Cold One Dread Knight
4 Darkshards w/ Shield
2 Har Ganeth Executioners
2 Witch Elves
4 Black Guard of Naggarond
I used arcane conduit on cooldown, used power of darkness when needed on the sorceress and used a black staff item as well to keep my winds of magic topped up.
Chillwind and Flaming Skull primarily to decimate the enemy frontline once they've engaged my Black guards.
How did you survive the Wood Elves mini campaign against Moghur? He has damage immunity buff and you can only attack him for 16 secs every 45 secs.
That battle isn't that difficult, morghur comes out of a valley and the 2 ridges above him are tailor made to vanguard deploy waywatchers on while you block his forces exit. it's very easy to strike at him with them when his shield is down. That battle is a matter of ammo management though, if you bring a very archer-heavy army like I did.
What happens if you win that battle?
Then the faction who started the ritual is out of the competition.
To use an example: If you are playing as the high elves, and the lizardmen complete their fifth and final ritual, then you are given a quest battle where you try to attack the lizardmen at the vortex island, with the skaven and dark elves reinforcing you. Since you have two extra armies with you, its very hard to lose that battle. Once you win it, the Lizardmen are removed from the race entirely, and now its a matter of competing only with the skaven and dark elves.
What happens if the skaven finish the fifth one before you do however, I'm not sure. Either you are given yet another quest battle where you try to disrupt them with the lizardmen, and dark elves reinforcing you, or its just the dark elves reinforcing you, since the lizardmen are removed from the race.
I'm trying to find out :P
I'm currently playing as the Dark Elves, and I'm intentionally not doing my rituals. I want to see what happens if I let all 3 of the other races finish first.
